Because he will not punish me by raising my taxes when I work my small business in to a medium sized business. Who would want to work harder and create more jobs for America if you were just going to be taxed more because you are "Rich". Fvck redistribution of wealth. I would rather my small business stay at 230,000$ a year than 260,000 a year. Evil or Very Mad

pyroskater00, And your moral outrage is not sparked by the top tax bracket being 36% (or 35%, whatever) RIGHT NOW, but if it goes up to 39% suddenly it's a SOCIALIST WEALTH REDISTRIBUTION SCHEME? At what point between 35% and 39% did we go from the current administration's rich-person-friendly tax scheme to a Marxist/Leninist kill-the-rich plot?

uidzero, when a terrorist proposed a tax hike. Duh.

And, for the record, a business making $230,000/year and paying 35% nets $149,500.
A business making $260,000/year and paying 39% nets $158,600. So you'd still be coming out ahead. And if you fall into a range where you aren't that much higher over the $250k mark, then just find yourself a good accountant who will find ways to drop you below that mark.

1. 35% is a base tax. Your check gets it's ass taxed a fvckload more than that.

What do you define as a rich person friendly tax scheme...

Not everybody "just so happends to be" a rich power hungry executive like everyone portrays rich people to be. You know, some of them actually WORKED for their shizzle.

My personal philosophy is that there should be a flat taxation across the board.

You make 10,000 a year? 1,000$ will be taken by the government.

You make 500,000 a year? 50,000$ will be taken by the government.

I just don't like giveaways dude.

Because if obama did make these cuts with the economy in the state that it is , large corporations are going to have to pay more money to the people they already can't afford to employ, so they are going to outsource, and then there will be no one to sit at the table to write large tax checks to the government because nothing will be made in America anymore and we will be a giant consumerist nation ( like we already are)

Out of curiousity, is there anyone who is not a small business owner that is outraged about the proposed raise in taxes? Joe Sixpacks? Hockey Moms? What say you?

pyroskater00, So you didn't like the "give away" tax cuts the current administration gave to that tax bracket either? I never made the assumption that all 'rich' people are power hungry execs BTW.

Fair/Flat tax is a whole other issue and isn't one that McCain has included in his platform but I'll respond.

The rich are *all over* this flat tax thing, so you'd have to guess they are all either just plain wrong on the issue, or they are just willing and ready to pay more in overall taxes to help the US, or last (and most likely) they will be paying less in taxes.

And if they are paying less in taxes, and the poor can't pay any more regardless of what their tax rate is (% changes on damn little makes hump change either way) then it will fall back to us middle class taxpayers.

So where's the giveaways? We're not talking about welfare here, we're talking about millions of hard working Americans.

The idea that you're not going to want to grow your small business to the point where you are personally making more the 250k per year simply because of a tiny tax hike is retarded.

Bush signed a bill right after 9/11 that allowed corporations to increase the amount of jobs they outsource. Was that because of taxes too? Either way they're going to do what's cheaper, not what's right. Everyone knows we don't produce things like we use to and it has NOTHING to do with taxes. If you recall the last time we had a depression the one thing that saved us was a war, because we still produced things back then, and that gave the American workforce jobs. That's not going to work this time so now what?

And again I ask at what point between 35% and 39% did we go from the current administration's rich-person-friendly tax scheme to a Marxist/Leninist kill-the-rich plot?

What will happen if Obama gets elected and makes tax cuts is it will it will free up money that's going to get dumped right back into our economy. And let's not forget about all those large corporations we're bailing out too. Maybe they're the ones that need to learn to fish.

EJazzle, FYI Hoover increased taxes across the board, and the percentage increased with income. Soooo that has what to do with Obama's tax plan? He also implemented a 13.75% tax on corporations.

Clue > You
