I normally do unless it's deep water... Have you almost been knocked out yet? After getting smoked in the face by boards a few times and almost knocking myself out I started wearing my vest more often.

Theres been a number of people who have died from getting knocked out by their board and they werent wearing a life vest so the boat couldnt find them until their dead body resurfaced.

Moral of the story is dont be that dumb ass, you may not like wearing a vest but they come through if you ever find yourself in a bad position like injuring yourself or getting knocked out.

agreed.
It doesn't take much to hurt your knee on a wakeskate. It sucks to be in pain and try to not move your knee but still have to tread water keep afloat.

Vests are not for swimming. They are for floating your near lifeless body until help arrives. CGA vests (in theory) will float you face up.

Just a thought.

They might, but they aren't designed to do so. Type 3 Pfds just have 15 pounds of floatation and three points of closure.
