My best friend has purchased a new Hyperlite skate, he asked me to post on this site if anyone knew what to use to take off the sticky stuff from the stickers on the bottom of the deck. We are about to try goo gone but someone said it would take off the laminate of the bottom of the skate. Is this true? Help please!

I would think nail polish remover would be the best.

use rubbing alchahol, ive done it a few times myself. just pour a little on and start rubin it in right away cuz itll dry up real fast.but if ur real careful use a razor blade to peel it off.

Guys its on the bottom of the skate, the part with the graphics. I already gripped it, if you guys are thinking of the top when you remove the foam i already put grip on it. Its the stickers on the graphics, I dont want to use a product that will take off the laminate or make it slide bad. I have already tried getting rid of it in the water while wakeskating. It didnt work, hyperlite640, wouldnt rubbing alcohol take off the laminate?

LFfool246, , no i dont think so. it just depends on what type of sticker it is There are some that are literally permanent and others that are made to come offf easily when wanted to. I bought a sticker package and the ones in their are perfect; they come off when wanted. I have a buywake, reef, and ambush sticker on the bottom of mine and they all stay on fine. Id test a small patch in the corner. I dont think anything will happen cuz i used rubin alacahol on my wakeboard and it was fine. Just make sure to test a small patch somewhere. The rails where its black you shouldnt have any trouble whatsoever with rubin alacahol.

goo gone took off the shiny finish on the top on my wakeboard when I took one sticker off with it. But for other stickers it didnt. Just depends on the sticker. Just do it, shiny finish doesnt really matter. Plus its not your skate.
