guys, chill out. pirate if you are truly working on being a good representation of your faith id suggest you dont contest the others, merely share your views. if others are interested they will ask more. if you do beleive in Jesus, and his actions, than learn from them. did he go around provoking or challenging other faiths, no.

keep this civilized, or i guess we could argue and have it turn into every other religious converation gone argument gone fruitless form of impressment upon others.

Tobias Neumann, there was no reason to make bad comments about America and our leaders that have faith. Is every decision you've ever made based on your faith and religion? Let's keep this civilized and leave politics out of it.

i go to a 'catholic school' and have study the Old Testament everyday, imo the old testament is mostly all fiction with little fact, just stories to show us what is right etc. etc..

anyone else have views on the OT?

how can you say the old testiment is fiction? that is probably one of the best sources for human history that historians have (religious or not)! granted...there are a lot of stories that may be used for moral lessons...i.e. jonah and the whale...etc. but still...the ot is still a huge part of human history.

have you studied it though? i guess i should re-phrase my origional statement and say ...the OT has many exaggerations (sp?) to teach lessons, make points, etc. we have debates about it a lot

example..all the 1st born babies dying from the 10th (i think?) plague on Egypt, it has been said that the only actual death may have just been the pharoah's son, but that he was considered the 'son' of all of egypt's people because he was their future king

we came up with some other examples which i can't remember right now haha

Back to the topic at hand, I am a christian as well. Nick and others have brought up good statements and it's good to see other christian on the board.

I don't know who said all of these, but oh well.
-Someone said that christian push others to become christian. Well, christian do this (in a simple explaination) because it's what God tells us to do. If you read and truly understand and believe in the bible and God, you'll know. Why do you think those people (brain fart, can't remember their title) go around neighborhoods knocking on doors to try to talk to you about coverting to their religion? <- That might only happen here. We as christian believe we have eternal lives, we want to see our friends and family in Heaven as well.
-Someone talked about war and all that, well the bible talks about many wars. (Lots more about that, won't get into it)

Umm...I don't know what else.
.....and I haven't slept in 36 hours, so sorry if things don't make sense.

Jesus seems to have been the greatest person to ever live. He is the greatest role model for us to follow. I am thankful that someone like this lived and I can be like him as much as I can. Jesus saves!

Jonesie, there is over 300 prophecies in the old testament about things jesus would do and he fullfilled every1 of them

but yeah on wakeskatefoo's topic of prophecies, has anyone seen that program on the History Channel about how the bible 'predicts' things of the future...like JFK and WWII etc.??

religon on messages boards is a joke.... it shoudl be something personal to you.. state what you are..... dont argue about whats right or wrong..... everything is yours, you dont let other people influence you on becoming none cristian, so why influence them to become cristian..... ?
