Hi i am from australia and i am looking very eagerly at the kampus k39 wakeskate and the hyperlite catalyst wakeskate. I was just wondering who has either or if anyone has had both and what they thought because i am an intermediate to advanced rider and i just want to know as much as possible before i go and order a kampus because i will have to get one imported from overseas if i decide to get one...

Also if i decide to get a Kampus K39 deck is there anybody on here that owns or works for a company that will send a k39 to australia...

I would NOT recomend the catalyst, ive rode catalyst 112 and i almost couldnt land a shuv with the board even though i rode it for many months. now i'm riding kampus swing and it works much better. but if you want to just go wake2wake the catalyst is a good board but for shuvs it sucks. but i dont know how the 04 and 05's are.

Everyone on this site will say "Buy integrity" but if you are choosing between k39 and catalyst i would say go for the k39!

i would definitly agree with these guys on the catalysts the 2003 and 2004 catalysts were way to light and got tossed around pretty easy, but i would definetly check out the hyperlites because they totally redid all their stuff and made them much better this year much heavier and more predictable, different concaves too, but the catalyst is probably one of the best wake to wake boards, great pop off the wake and the top part of the board works great for that kind of stuff maybe not so much for shuv its and lipslides

The rails on the '05 Byerly and Catalyst skates have been smoothed down from the razor sharpness of the '04 models. They had to wait for Erich to come up with that idea first.

no offense, but variable edge designs have been used for a long ass time, including on the 98 byerly pro model wakeboard.

all you guys who havent actually riddent he 05 catalyst should really pipe down the 04 is a completely different skate, I honestly have ridden both and as of THIS year (2005) I would actually prefer the Catalyst over the K-39. . .unless they are dropping a concave one. . .which they are not. . just my thought, all brand loyalties aside, the new catalyst adn byerly are really fairly good skates. . .despite there HO liniage

Mr. Top Hat, deffinitly, the 39 was a sick board to ride, probly one of the most fun to cuz its so small and spins fast. it has large surface area so u can landstuff pretty ez. AND ITS WOOD Smile, i loved the k39, make sure u grip it if u get it.

-=AlexXx=-, true dat, my friend gripped his k39 that i sold him and its so much lighter without the foam. i learned shuvs on that board cuz it realeses so easily and does lip tricks smooth.

ozzy_mulisha, there are definetly lots of biased opinions on this site... so here is the deal, ride what you think will help you progress and have fun...

the catalyst, holds good with damage and w2w because its so big... but is very skinny and has a werid annoying bump in the middle

the K39, solid deck, lots of pop, well help you progress your riding to new levels... but is not a concave

so its up to you... my suggestion, go with the kampus

EvanPark, i still enjoy flat decks over most concaves. ive only found one concave that i really liked.
