I'm checking out dates to make sure I can hit up some tournaments and I find this out... Toe Jam qualifying for the wildcard spots is on a thursday and qualifying fro Pro Tour is on a friday. I have never missed a day of school and a few of my scholarships depend on it staying that way... I don't know what to do Crying or Very sad

Dude, stick with school. Entering a wakeskate tournament isn't worth fouling up you college possibilities.

go to school for like an hour just to say you were there, then go home "sick". Puke in the bathroom if you have to. It should stay on record that you were there that day then.

headhuntermx4, Hmmm, mine was different. Only day absenses, then if you missed a class you were considered skipping and usually got caught. The office would send out an attendence sheet with everyone who was absent that day to all the teachers, then they would compare to their attendence in class. Kinda confusing, but I think my plan would have worked to have it not count as a day. I don't know though, never tried it.

Jonesie, wheres the fun in that?

Greg T, there really is no fun in it but at least you don't have to 1) sniff on someone or somethings shizzle or 2) gag yourself, just to get out of school. because at least in my experiences, school isn't something I want to have to face any physical uncomfort for (unless its phys-ed style dodgeball, which of course kicks major ass)

Nick, maybe try to contact them and ask if you can ride later in the day.
Otherwise maybe try what Greg said, if you think it'd work.

I would say if youreally want to go to college (and the scholarship relies on your attendance) and know what you want to do, stay in school. Say your scholarship is $1000, that's pretty good plus might be each year, so $4000....the events won't get you too much $$, if any.

You always have next year for the events, or others events, so I'd say if the scholarship relies on attenance, stay. Good luck with it all.

i think you can miss 2 days of school. i mean it is not going to fu*k with your academic future. and wakeskating might be your future anyway, i would not miss out on this oppertunity if i was as LUCKY and talented as you, dont throw that away or disregard it, unless wakeskating isnt your passion.

Wakeskating could be your future by how talented you are. Like what numb, said, isnt friday a holiday in anna maria island. In orlando school district friday the 29 is a holiday. By the way have your mom call in for an excused abscense..

Nick, are these scholarships for HS or college... if HS, then I would assume you go to a private school, but if public, and you are talking about college, they aren't going to care if you missed one day, it's not that big of a deal, besides you are a little ways away before you need to be worried about that. I got plenty of scholarship offers from schools that I didn't even apply to, and I even missed a day here and there. If your parents won't let you skip, well then your stuck, but missing 2 days of school should not going to take away your scholarship offers.

if it is without a doubt gonna mess up your scholarship, dont go. ive never heard of a scholarship that would be messed up from only 2 abscences.

Well for everyone whos saying it's not gonna mess up my scholarship (I go to public school and it's for college), it will. Since kindergarten, I have never missed a single day... it comes out to like almost 2000 consecutive days... I don't like take great pride in it, but it'll help with tuition if I decide to go to college (not sure).

I'm gonna try everything I can to not get counted absent, but if it comes down to it, I dont know Confused

Who would I call to find out if I can ride later in the day? Cuz it's only qualifying, I'm gonna have the same thing as everyone else...

And wakeskating is definitely my passion, it is what I live for.

Nick Taylor, not tryin to be a d*ck but what kind of scholarship is this? i filled out numerous scholarship applications and none of them said anything about missed days of school...but yea, if it is gonna hurt ur chances of not receiving the scholarship, then go to school for sure
and im goin on saturday...i wanna see u riding with all the big boys
