Hey everyone,

I'm saving up to buy a older jetski like a 1995 seadoo xp... something pritty cheap... does anyone use those oldschool jetskis? how do they run? do they handle good?

the only ones ive ever used are new ones but there way to expensive... Ive used an old waverunner and it was the worst thing ever, way to tippy...

also if you do have an old jetski do you film with it? do you use a camera housing to insure your camera from braking if you flip over?

thanks

word up.

this is jacob. on his 1990(i think) yamaha. its a piece and it's hella illegal, but it works.
if it's in good condition you should be fine. i dont know what the man is like in canadia(hahahha marine mounties), but down here you're supposed to have a three seater with one person spotting or have a big mirror.

They used a pretty old ski in the film asterisk and it was a lot uglier than that. That jet ski up above is sweet.

the S.S. Haggard is pretty sweet. cause of the professional green to black candy paint fade.

its almost exactly the same as the ones in asterisk

yo evan,
i would honestly not recomend a sea-doo, they are highly unreliable in all of my exsperiences and research. one of my best friends had a 97 or 98 with only 145 hours on it and the thing was constanly in the shop. my advise would be kawasaki or yamaha.

but if you want something for lil money i would recomend a v-haul aluminum boat with a hefty motor and then you can pimp it out teh way you want for not to much money. like build a lil pylon for it and put a lil bit of weight in it for a good wake. you will get a lot more for a lot less and have a more reliable boat.

jboss, johnny law says you have to have a 3 seater with two people on the ski for someone to be riding. and all have to have uscg vests.

we have a two seater with one person driving, and no one has a uscg vest.

plus the ss haggard is so cool it should be illegal anyway.

and yea, seadoos are unreliable. jacob's is yamaha and its 15 years old and still pulls.

EvanPark, it's fine. it turns left quicker than it does right. but thats cause it's old and... battle weary.
handling isn't that big of a deal for jetskis, you'd get used to it unless there was a major problem. and plus we go straight anyway, right?

while on the topic of old jetskis...I'm thinking about getting one also, but I drive a dodge stratus and I'm not too sure if I will be able to put it in/out with my 'pimp' ride? anyone know how easy it is to put a ski in/out with a car of my caliber?

Jonesie, i drive a honda accord and my parents decided to smack a tow hitch on it, looks gay but whatever. it pulls my seadoo fine and can put it in and out alright. it depends a lot on the steepness of the ramp becuase my ramp isnt that steep so i have to back the shizzle all the way in until the muffler is bubbling on the water, and then kinda rock the jet ski off cuz it doesnt float. getting it on isnt bad tho, if we had a steeper ramp it wouldnt be a problem. bottom line is as long as your tow hitch can handle the tongue weight of the trailer, your good to go.
