I generally don't make opinionated posts such as this, but I think it is the stupidest thing you could possibly do by not wearing a life vest no matter how deep the water is. LIFE vest...get it?

I guess the price of being cool is worth your life. I felt this way even before one of my good friends died from not wearing a vest and feel even more strongly about it now.

Do yourself and your family a favor and wear a vest. You'll still be cool...I promise.

I always wear a vest and I'm not cool, but that's probably not a vest-related issue for me Laugh

If you think it's the stupidest thing Dave, does that mean you will refuse to promote such habits anywhere on this site by hosting pictures or videos of people who don't wear vests?

Well, I don't particularly like to put up pictures or videos that feature riders not wearing a vest, but I also believe in the freedom of choice. It is disappointing to me to see a sweet picture or watch a sick video and the riders are not wearing life vest.

Saying that not wearing a vest is stupid, is only my opinion. If you choose not to wear a vest, then that is your own fault and your own life to lose. I don't feel that I promote such habits by putting up pictures of riders not wearing a vest. The riders in the pictures and the videos are doing the promoting. If you see a video or pictures of me riding, I will have a vest on that is Coast Guard Approved.

Nobody rides behind my boat without a vest on either (when I have a boat)

Same here, when I drive and when I ride.
Anyhow, where I ride it's not allowed to ride without a vest and the fine is for the driver not for the rider...

A vest all the way. You can drown in 2 inches of water if you are knocked out so it does no good if the water is waist deep. I am switching to a USCG one after this one wears out. I already found one I like and bought it. Helmets aren't a bad idea either.
