skateboard...no. im a water man by nature...something about falling on concrete that just doesnt apeal to me. sooo..the bi-lev was my 'first' grip tape job. and yes...i read the bi-lev instructions...and i thought it was funny. i thought to myself...'thats a good idea'...save time and money by making the customer grip their own boards and make the customer think its a good thing (and in their best interests) by telling them that they have the freedom to grip their boards in any cool pattern they want! haha. No complaints though...i had fun gripping my board and i like the way it turned out...

twenty7, I can assure you that the whole grip-it-yourself thing is not a money saving ploy. Ask thomas any question you want about it, but they're highly inspired by skating and it seriously is about taking more responsiblity for your board and understanding how it works.
everyone is different, but I personally like the fact that integrity and cassette now let you grip your own decks. You can pattern it like david or get different colored grip (or put foam on if you so please).
David, five wakeskates...that's impressive! I would have purchased an 04 reed too, and I had my order placed with my shop but you know how things went from there. I think it's pretty fun right now, that there are some different shapes to try out. I don't know if I'll have the money, but I kind of want to buy a kampus from my shop because they're like 30% off. but anyway, I think it's cool that you're all about trying different things.

Its just biting Schmaltz's idea to grip it yourself in my opinion.

Pirate, I'm not sure who I've spoken to that you know. But if I ever find out who it was, I'll totally engage them in a convo about sweet chicky drinks.
Also, I posted one pic of like six wakeboards on a different thread. I was out of town for awhile, so I didn't post them immediately.

Ok! Here's mine. Nothing too fancy, but hey, the edges are sharp and the Cassette "C" is cut out so the wood is shown. I also put a little space between the grip sheets behind the "C" so it would be easier to spot the tail on shuvits etc.... It isn't "Corey-Webster-spiderweb-style" but I think it turned out pretty good anyway... I spent about 6 years working in a skate shop and I have "practiced" putting grip on approx. hundreds of regular skateboards.....

re : WAAAARRRRR "woods" against the "durables
Thats funny. never new that cutting grip tape was so complicated........
any body ride that rubberized grip yet? is it any good? you would think so because EVA is pretty dialed in water situations.
