scott a, are you once again running your mouth regarding a subject you have little knowledge of
um. well, there is the type of winch that Chris O has (and was used in the dpcfilm video), then there is the Hypoxic variety...and then there is yours. the difference between theirs and yours is that theirs is out there and yours is somewhere in the stages of production (you've chosen to keep us in the dark as to how far along yours is). am i up to speed? if not feel free to add information as you see fit.

the difference between what i say and what you've said thus far lies in the fact that you are openly bad mouthing competitors' products. sure, you say that you respect them and what not, but every time youve seen a winch thread youve jumped right out and pointed out its shortcomings (and THEN backtracked and said that you respect it). not to say my "bad mouthing" is alright...

but you. . . . . well suffice to say I respect what is done with hands more than mouth, when you can match even what I have donw with my hands come on back withthat mouth.
how can i match what you have done with your vastly superior hands when you've already decided to keep us in the dark as to how far along your super duper winch is coming?

dont hate me because you have no product with which to compare to these other two.

i actually respect what is done with the mouth more than what is done with the hands. one takes intellect while the other merely practice.

p.s. you've spelled a few words wrong with those hands Wink

scott a, when you get to where I am even on my last update post Ill let you in on the rest, oh and the people with genuine interest do know how far along it is, your confusing "bad mouthing" which you do with interest and constructive criticism, I dont hate anybody, and you my friend are merely a gnat in my ear, oh and you go ahead and try to do what I have done with my hands and tell me no intellect is involved, and while were at it your not my professor this isnt formal writing so eat my spelling, better yet think of it as wheres Waldo for the internet trash talker. . .

and since you dont think your bad mouthing is nessicarly right then why do you do it ah once again I hear buzzing : : looks for flyswatter : : Laughing

EDIT: I almost forgot, 2 winch threads Scott is not every winch thread, and I actually encouraged Neverride to post pics on here, but Im soo all about jumping and hating on every winch maker besides me, b/c Im all about self Rolling Eyes

Kento, we are not able to display pictures of our new towing device until the patent and registration are completed! (by rule no pictures shall be displayed in the press or any media until the process is finished)

But not to worry..........pics are coming and a movie too! For your records our towing device has really nothing to do with the "black box"!

And if there is a "winch war" well someone is going to fight a skud with a sword Wink

This is some funny sh%t, theres like a million winch companys now. I haven't been on here in a while and haven't read the whole thread ,but take it from someone has already started the patent project...don't even bother it really won't protect your creation. Alls someone has to do leagally is change 5% of it and now its their idea, full patents are almost $12000 TO $15000 for a design patent, it sucks, but what are you gonna do?
But anyways there is no money in selling that type of winch to much overhead , its cool to push the sport and everything but its hard to bring your vehicle everywhere you go and not get caught.
This winch I have now is really going to freak people out you can take it everywhere without a vehicle.
Lets just say you feel like spiderman...

Right on !

Full patents are under procedure ...
To make things clear we never needed a vehicle for our towing device and never will! It surely takes away most of the interesting spots awaiting to be hit... Wink

According to the blackbox site, you won't need a vehicle to use it either, as it has wheels to move around, and you can stake it into the ground...

NR, woodisbest! is that you. . .nice new out fit haha. . .yeah I figured, but I wanted to open the offer, I know how that patent crap goes

thewinch, I thought you already had a patent what happened

L.O.W. 928, I want to keep my winch about the same as the Hypoxic, lower if I can, but seeing as everything on mine is more expensive from what I can tell. . .I will be happy to meet their price with a better product hopefully

seven11dmd, just one. . . . . .but Im not ready for that kind of commitment yet. . .will you wait for me lol

JamesBoardr, check PM I will offer my opinion. . .however I will warn you I am biased as is everyother person against their competition

senorbueno, I am curious to see that too. . .we decided against that feature, b/c well it is dangerous the kind of force your generating will rip alot of stuff out of the ground. . . . .

This is old news....Wake Up Films pioneered the vehicle-less winch and put the winch on wheels last year.

http://www.wakeskating.com/showarticle.php?a=236

Seems like Hypoxic is late to the party...and did you notice the striking resemblance of the "BlackBox" winch...innovation-no, compliment-yes.

I do agree with Kento911, staking to the ground can be risky.

I wonder, does it come with the wheels and stakes?????

Gotta love those winches................

I don't need a full patent I invented this thing remember? We have already taken measures to protect our invention I am really not to concerned about it. And as far as pioneering the vehiclless winch we were doing that back in early 2003 while nobody even heard of a winch.

Respect to Tony! He is a true Pioneer ! He came up with the idea and was the first one to make it happened! Respect I say!

The only reason that made us create our own was the unfeasibility to import and distribute the original winch in Europe! That been said, I surely do not give any respect to any one who had simply copied what already existed 2 years ago! This is not what progression is about. Being inspired by a product and develop its own, adding unseen features is one thing, stealing design and function is something else!

thewinch, sorry I was just confused by these statements wanted to make sure my facts were straight

I mean granted these posts are old, but not 20 years old

Hey when you wanna be's create this abortion winch your trying to build tell me how long it lasts if it even lasts 1 pull. And when your done screwing around and you wanna buy a winch that will pull 600 feet of rope and a rider that weighs 220lbs out of the water come holla!

P.S. this is a patented product.

As for competition for the winch market here are some words of advice, before you go engineering a similar product you should see what types of model winches I have tied up for 20 years, not only do we have a watersports horizontial winch but also the vertical model thats being tested in the snow for snowboarders Its kind of like your own personal ski lift except you don't have to get out of your boots, you just get pulled uphill like almost 1000feet. You may be able to design it differently, but I have utility patents on this stuff, and design patents too, so if you did design it different you would still have to pay me a royalty fee for every one you sold.I'm not trying to be a di*k its just the law.

NR, I agree, with you in one respect up holding a 2 y/o status quo isnt very impressive, but thats ok I know from you and I talking before that both of us are trying to push this sport more than this product.

My apologies the winch. The correct word should have been "publicized" not "pioneered". I have no doubt you have tried this and many other concepts. Most of us are simply not aware of them, so there is a fair bit of ignorance to be sure.

No harm done, I understand Chris definitly publicized the winch thats for sure he made some pretty cool videos with it.
As far as comments go, Its hard to sit here on this website and see alot of people copying my design and trying to take credit for it like it was there own, its kind of fustrating.
After all we all have love for the same sport and hopfully that will bring others to gain interest and grow in popularity like wakeboarding.
I have one last winch design up my sleeve this one is going to really make people scratch their heads. And when its all done it will sell for at the most $800 and thats making profit.

thewinch...one last design? Yeah right, like you're not going to keep thinking after that one Smile

I know it is frustrating not getting the credit you deserve. Just remember, the most sincere compliment is imitation.

There is no question that your invention has, and continues to have, a significant impact on the sport. I can't wait to see the next one.
