Just think about it for a second.....

Ok, still cant think of what it is? Even though the name gives it away?

A winch that only takes one person to operate so he/she can be the rider and operator.

...

Cause in the regular winch, one man needs to operate it, and the other will ride. That's a TWO person operation. Now think again about the title. 1 man winch, and I quote from a previous comment,

In the old forum, there was a thread about a Winch with a waterproof remote control and a dog in charge of the handle. Don't you remember that?! Laughing

That was me, it was just a joke, but I'm still waiting for someone to try it out for me anyway...

Check out this video. It's an indoor winch.
Choose the first footage (on the left), the other ones are crap.

Apparently it's possible to pull at least one trick in a pool.

And this:

So, what do you think, is the Cassette winch a revolution... Rolling Eyes

Similar clips/images were brought up when the winch as we know it was first introduced and the same question was asked. I seriously doubt that Cassette were the first to ever want to be pulled across the water by something other than a boat. If you look at the winch in the video clips compared to the winch that we know of today, you will notice a few important characteristics of each that does make the winch of today much more appealing and "revolutionary".

The winches in the videos do not appear to be mobile and they also appear to be electric. The key factors with the new winch is that you can take it anywhere because it hooks onto a vehicle and it runs on fuel, not electricity. Please correct me if I'm wrong about the winches in the video clips.

I'd personally like to have either one. Especially if I had a huge pool inside of my house. How phat would that be?

The concept of the new winch is often overlooked. It wasn't designed to put the boating industry out of business. It is more for situations such as seeing a spot, set it up, ride it, leave before you get arrested.

ya skiers have been using the same idea as the winch for years but with a car but as dave said it was not very functional if you want to slide a downtown fountain as most of us do.

i cant wait for this to come out, downtown tampas going to be some good old gettin arrested fun. Laughing

Yes, these winches seem to be eletric and not very mobile.
But I guess that wouldn't be a major hurdle in a small country like Switzerland where you will find electric sockets almost everywhere near the shore and then just use one of those inexpensive wire extensions.
Anyway, it would be so sweet to wakeskate in the pool of your ski resort... after a nice day of skiing or snowboarding.

isn't the winch used by the cassette one that you have on 4weeldrive cars that are used in rallyes to tow out a car from a splippery terrain our out of a hole.

If you change the pinion ratio you can get much more speed than pull if needed, so any type of 4X4 car winch should do the job no?
