ok this is probably the most newbie question you will ever see from me but...
you see alot of riders out there riding one fin... what is the reason for only riding one? because when you think about it when ever you land on the one end with no fin its alot looser (think of the cassette guys riding like 1.3 in fins) like y dont just ride two?
this is just a question so if anyone has a smart answer that might give me some insight post it!!! |

PIRATE, haha ya...
do they ride it because it gives you alittle more tracktion than no fins or do they want less tracktion than 2 fins ? |

the theory I heard from BT (who rides one fin) is that it gives you more solid landins on tricks, and you can get more grip on your switch foot, atleast thats what he told me at irvine, when I asked him that
BTW I agree two small fins or no fins _________________ why dont you try playing hide and go Fvck yourself |

kento911, thats what I thought most would say.... but when you think about it with wakeskating your switching the board around so many times it is hard to try to always land with the fin in the back.... i think it would be a stuggle, excepially at conests... if your setting up for a 3 shuv or something and your fin is in the front you will have to do a shuv to bring it to the back and if your not consistant your risking a fall
BTW this is my opinion |

one fin seems pointless to me becuase its not consistent, one side feels slippery and the other side sticks, so it seems that an inconsistency in your board feel would not help you land anything _________________ JMU |

| alot of people who skatebaord ride with one truck tight and one loose. one fin might simulate that on a wakeskate. theres alot of things that cannot be explained though, it just feels good. |

| i think 2 fins or no fins is the way to go, cuz ur gunna land all like slippery sometimes if u shuv, and if u do it agian ur shuving with no fins.. and it might jsut get confusing if u always want the fin in your back. |

| I ride finless but another local skater who rides finless tried to ride with one fin and it totaly threw him off.. the board kept wanting to spin around to the fin side if the fin was on the front and he was riding finless on the back if he put more pressure on his front foot |

| im VERY surprised to see so many share the same opinion as I did.... last time I rode I was riding one fin and I keeped srewing up my bigspins because some times I would have the fin in the back and I needed to pop and kick it harder and sometimes when I had no fin I would over kick it and it would just look sooo newbie haha... so I just took it off and I was fine... I still see lots of pros riding 2 fins, philip basino, george daniels, drew McGukin to name a few... Im going to back to two .6 fins in each end |

I ride finless and I guess it's what I'm used to, but little while ago I experimented with different fin setups. One little fin on one side was one thing I tried out and I liked it for a while, but I went back to finless after that... _________________ Aloha |

I watched FITB today, and I tryed to watch it very closely to see what reed, horrel, and danny do...
I always see reed with that big fin in the back... on almost every trick he does.. same with thomas... but danny its all over the place with the fin so I guess reed and horrel shuv the board around before they do a big trick like a kflip or fs board 270 shuv out |

| I ride the shank fins and they are the best wakeskate fins, i have tried kampus fins and liquid force fins and the cassette fins and a cassette board with one 4-trak fin was pretty good |
