bevan, its not summer in australia, its cold because the earth is really far from the sun right now, meaning the whole planet is cold... thats why its winter, the earth revolves around the sun over the course of a year it makes a complete circle around the sun, within that complete circle the earth spins around 365 1/4 times bringing day and night ect.... the line that the earth travels in is not a perfect circle, otherwise it would allways be the same season forever and ever, summer is the closest season we are to the sun making it hottest... and winter is the farthest making it cold... spring and fall are the same. so let me ask you a question... how can it be summer in australia?

......dave you should sticky this.

rukusrider103, diametrically opposite hemispherical location Ryan, he's right it is infact summer in austrailia, because the earths axis is slanted, and right now the southern hemisphere(the one australia's in) is closer to the sun

ok, so im leaving now to head up to Bear Valley. its gotten 17 inches in the past 24 hours, with 6-10 expected in the next day or so. another storm is on its way from the north. toodles!

p.s. ...definitely bringing an old ski handle/rope to use with my friend's snow mobile.

I'm still riding, actually I live in Orlando so I never really stop. Yea, it might sound great to some of you snowbirds but I wish to god I could go snowboarding. Hey, anyone live near a good mountain that wants to come to Orlando this winter I gotta nice big house you can stay at for free. We'll go to Odub and I'll take ya on the boat. I just need a place to stay and snowboard at for a couple of days in return. Laughing

I rode yesterday, 2 wetsuits, 2 booties, glove, hood, a few days prior the river was frozen over.

I wasn't cold at all, a slight limitation in mobility; but so worth it. I couldn't wait til spring to try out the new bi, mad pop, really loose, butter landings, good weight.
