yeh its pretty crazy. theres been a fair few great white attacks recently in australia. mainly around west australia and south australia. there a protected species so i think there numbers are starting to grow, hence the increase in shark attacks.

three worst ways to die

1. drowning
2. getting burned up in a fire
3. shark attack

actually drowning is suppose to be one of the least painful ways to die, since you pass out first.

Thats a horrible story, hopefully they can recover from what they had to see.

thats awful. its scary to think that that can happen to the person sitting next to you when your surfing. i dont think i have to worry that much here in singapore not much can live in the water. although there was a crocidile accident a few weeks ago. they said the crocidile was 15 feet long. thankfully the guy came out of the water right as the croc snapped for him and just missed him.

i think the worst way to die owuld be in a big covered boat or airplane sinking and your trapped in side and the water slowly gets higher and higher and you are trying to keep your head up but you can only go so high as the roof. it would just suck like that.

He wasn't surfing,he was behind a boat skurfing[or wakesurfing].So watch where you wakeskate Shocked
Shark attacks are horrible but the reality is, for how many people are in the ocean every day there ain't a whole lot of them.Your odd's are pretty good, just don't tell that to that guy.

I ride in Tampa Bay, which is statistically the 2nd most shark infested waters in the world. Everyday, you see them. When you surf, you see them. When you're wakeskating, you see them... I swear on the fate of the world that I have seen sharks jump half way out of the water and take out birds flying a foot above the water.

Also scary, is when you're wakeskating, you see devil rays bigger than any shark you've ever seen... swarms of them... This is all a good enough excuse for why I wakeskate in 2 ft. of water Laughing

tampa has nothing on the sharks in the keys. ive seen an 8 foot hammerhead get owned in midair bye a pair of spinner sharks. ive caught a 10+ foot hammerhead in less than 3 feet of water. ive had tarpon on my line get swallowed more or less whole by bull sharks that would have no problem taking a chunk out of my hull. ive seen or caught enough sharks to fill tampa bay thick and seen enought bloody water from total annihilation to turn tampa bay red.(exaggeration, but seriously.. A LOT)
sting rays are pretty scary too, they won't hurt you, but theyll make you squeal when they swim under you and are 4 or 5 feet in diameter. ive also been in the water with bonnetheads which isnt that bad but it will make you nervous. not to mention a saltwater crocidile, i was snorkeling, i was out of the water quicker than i got in.

Tampa Bay has a thicker concentration sharks than the keys, but it's definitely way high up on the list... Top 5 I'd say
