Didn't get out on the new board today  had a problem with the power valves on my jetski. Hopefully all fixed though, gonna go out tomorrow morning

Quick update, rode well this morning. Sadly some sections on the sides delaminated a little bit. Nothing to worry about though I'm fixing it with some epoxy right now. If anyone is attempting this project please use the correct product to seal the wood. The varnish I used was marine quality but was not recommended for use below the waterline. If I make another one I will use epoxy resin. The only reason I didn't was because of the price.

For fixing this one I just used general pc7 epoxy you get at any hardware store. For my next board I will probably use the same titebond glue for the layers but then seal it with west system epoxy resin.

| If you use the west system epoxy you could apply fiberglass to the bottom of the board to make it stronger and stiffer. |

west marine g flex is pretty rad too but both the west epoxy and gflex is $$$$
its like the price of buying a skate |

Thanks guys. The lake is the 2nd cleanest in New England, you can drink out of it! I probably won't add a layer of fiberglass, wouldn't it make it too heavy?? Do any expensive wood skates use fiberglass?

| ?, the skate i ride now has a layer of fiber glass and it has concave too, not even close to heavy. I think you could afford the weight. |

Colder weather is coming. I think my project this winter will be to build a wakeskate out of bamboo! I'm talking to some lumber shops right now trying to get prices and shipping all sorted out. The sheets are 4' x 8' and come in 1/8 and 1/32 sizes. I think the shipping is going to kill me instead of the actual price of the wood
