This was my mid-summer project that never got finished. I got burnt out on working on it and bought a ski. Ever since then it has been sitting. Probably gonna finish it up this month sometime when i get the money to do that last few things to it. After that its probably gonna be FOR SALE

Whats the take on 14' vs 16' Jon's?
Im really torn between the Lowe 1448MT and the Tracker 1648.
Im pretty sure i can get a better deal on the Tracker even though ideally i think i would want a 14'
I have a really nice 25hp 4 stroke yamaha that is going to go on something soon.
Thanks in advance _________________ Grip burn mmmmmm..... |

go with the extra space, more weight and a bigger wake
i have a 15 with a 35hp and i would love to have that extra ft _________________ https://vimeo.com/moontowerco |

The only thing im worried about with the 16' is the 25hp yamaha being too under-powered to push the extra weight.
More surface area of the boat should get it up on top of the water.
I know i could always get a different pitch prop as well to get some more low end. _________________ Grip burn mmmmmm..... |

I thought that someone had a 25hp 4 stroke and it didnt have enough power and switched back to a 2 stroke. I could be wrong but i thought i recalled someone having that problem. Something to think about maybe. |

ehhh relatively 25hp is 25hp. If anything im pretty sure the 4t would have more torque and low end grunt to get someone up.
Re Proping the motor would also really change the way it pulls.
Im just concerned as to how a 14' boat would glide / drag vs a 16' _________________ Grip burn mmmmmm..... |

BryceBell, may be right. The 2 stroke is lighter and has a better hole shot than the 4. So on the safer side if I had a 4 stoke i would lean more towards a 14'. |
