What has been your worst injury wakeskating and how often do you guys get injured? I read on a different forum that wakeskating is equally as dangerous a wakeboarding! |

I tore my labrum, part of my shoulder, pretty bad and it's been a long recovery after surgery, it doesn't help that I'm lazy about my physical therapy..

Ruptured a disc in my lower back, Microdisecotmy surgery on my L4-L5 disc, back on the water in 3 1/2 months. Couldnt believe it. Landed a 3 shuv first time out
Tore my MCL, Ligament on the inside of the knee, no surgery, I was back on the water in four months.
Constant water slaps with my back hand when landing sketchy causes my shoulder to hurt like sh*t for days.
Getting hurt isnt all bad. It fuels your live for the sport. |

I put my arm through the handle once, it was invigorating. I highly recommend it if you're trying to score some Percocets. |

Mr. Top Hat, I can only hope.
I did disloacte/break my toe on a in out front big this summer as well tho, they gave me good drugs for that one. I decided against the surgery so now my joint is fused together and that toe doesn't bend. It's just a toe tho? |

I / O frontside three shuv....
Turned into a torn MCL / PCL
3 1/2 hour surgery ended in a reconstructed knee and hamstring autograft.
Still isn't the same a year later but I'm back to shredding with a sweet knee brace. Bonus ! |

Torn meniscus from a super cold water re entry one foot on one off.
Surgery/rehab sucks, don't want to ever go through that again...

How do you avoid injuries like ACL and PCL tears? It just seems like a big drag to be out for a year of wakeskating and skiing in a knee brace. |

you guys may not believe or even find this interesting but ill share anyway. as far as recovery from injury, there is no doubt that stretching is essential. however in the prevention of injury, in a physiology class i took, we looked at studies that show that if youre the type of person that stretches before every physical activity you do, thats great and you should keep doing it. but if you never stretch by habit, its actually better not to stretch before an activity. so if you stretch regularly, you are less likely to get injured if you continue to stretch. if you dont stretch regularly, you are less likely to get injured if you dont stretch. i personally never stretch, never really have, and i havent had any stretch related injuries. i mean the occasional minor pulled muscle but i dont believe stretching would have changed that. basically the best thing you can do is build up your muscle. the stronger your muscle, the less likely your ligaments holding bones together will get stretched to their maximum or even tear. |

Yea I don't really stretch before activities but I think I will do minor stretches before physical activities just to get warmed up. And also I will remember to cover my face when I don't know where the board is. Wakeskates don't feel heavy on the water until they hit you. |

Tore my MCL on both knees doing splits with 1 foot stuck on the board.. focus now getting in a habit of stretching more. Then a loose board to the head and the common griptape eating up your shins/ankles. _________________ Instagram: Taylor_whoo
