What's the best way to get old grip off a board and prep it for new grip?

Leave sitting in the warm sun for 10 mins or so, and/or hair dryer as mentioned.

Be careful with gasoline/all sorts of adhesive removers as they can destroy the epoxy that is sealing the board.

Just peel off old grip tape with hair dryer and put new grip right on top of old glue. It'll be fine.
