tad, i'd like to know in what other action sports you think its necessary to make a decision based solely on life expectancy of a product. i dont know if in any others this is a big deal. in snowboarding, i feel lucky, a solid street/park board is probably going to be the most solid and durable board on the market, strange enough it also happens to be one of the cheapest in many cases. a new Ride Kink which is one of my favorite boards i've ever ridden, msrps for like 350. while a silly Burton Custom retails for near 500. thats enough of snow tho, i just wanted to know if you think other sports have the same problem, im not sure they do... |

This ^.
Low Percentage that a nooby will buy wood for their first board if they think it will delaminate at all with in a month of riding. Just sayin. |

tad, I've always felt like that's a really strange thing for someone to do. If someone loves this sport enough, then then they should commit to it spend the extra cash if they like something else better. For instance i'm the tightest person with money that i know, and i would easily choose wood over composite any day, even if that meant having to spend an extra three hundred bucks, because that's what i prefer.
i dont mean to sound like an ass if thats how im coming across, but i think in the long haul, its worth it |

I have yet to ride a composite board that feels as good as a wood concave under my feet. And if that means a board or 2 every season then I guess I will have quite the wall of memories for years to come.

I am glad to see this posted. More people need to realize Burton products are over priced POS.......at least this has been my experience. _________________ Bindings? We don't need no freaking bindings.... |

It all depends on what you do with your boards... any "decent" snowboard will begin to wear or break down after some real use in the park, out in the streets or in the trees. I have seen the same thing happen to composite wakeskates after a bit. Winching cement ledges or in spots with rocks everywhere will (most likely) wear down a board faster than riding cable or ski, no matter the material. Wood wakeskates will last only as long as you allow them. Take care of your shizzle and it will take care of you _________________ www.kcwatersports.com |

I mean how bad is the life expectancy on wood boards (say for example, the byerly heritage) for someone who strictly rides behind a ski? I'm new to wakeskating, and trying to decide on either the Heritage or the Revival... |

bondmaxbondrock, it's not that bad at all
my brother has had his remote board (one from the first line of boards) for about 3 years and it's just now starting to crack in the middle
i guess those boards weren't as strong as the new ones are either _________________ http://www.stickandflick.com

I have wood boards, and I have a Mutiny.
I buy a wood board each year, but they never last a full season.
I've rode my remote 5 times this year and the heelside plys are cracking, I doubt it will make it thru the year. I gave the WM to the wife to ride bc it wouldn't last half that. IDK why I crack them all the time but I do.
I really like my Mutiny Cougar. Its never going to die, and I bought it used. _________________ https://vimeo.com/moontowerco |

burn, Screw it with some small wood screws. Then put some resin on the outside , or wax to keep the water out. _________________ https://vimeo.com/moontowerco |

burn, idk what you want them to do about it...(not trying to be a dck but , they might not warranty, its not a wakeboard from LF)
turn up that DIY knob, go trash it at some winch spot and send the footy to WSM _________________ https://vimeo.com/moontowerco |
