And wakeskating doesn't have, or need, a "Vandall"...
Word. Although it has made a good discussion.

He has one or two quick clips in Ride Among Us as well. I was hoping for an Integrity veterans bonus section on that video (Schmaltz, Bobby Miller, Leif Erkilla). Is Miller involved at all with Integrity anymore?

A veterans section would have been cool! I don't think Leif had enough time to film--i know he has some explanation. Where were erich's clips? Maybe in a bonus section. I just watched the regular video a couple of days ago and didn't recall him being in there.
It's possible Erich doesn't ride as much anymore. He was in a car accident in 1997 or so, and that's why he was in a halo. Now it's like 15 years later, he's older and super busy building his boards and the phalanx line.

I had a couple clips in the vid in the friends section. Really didn't have time to shoot a lot. When Erich asked me to be on the team, the movie was basically done. I also live in California, and Mitch lives in Louisiana, so opportunities to film were scarce, to say the least.
It smells like vinegar in here. What's everybody so heated about? Wakeskating should bring us all together to have FUN doing what we love to do. Leave it to Randall Harris (one of two or three wakeboarders on earth that is worth watching ride, and a friend of mine) to stir shtuff up on here! haha.
All this politicking reminds me ALOT of the old wakeboarding days. Back When Erich Schmaltz, Thomas Horrell, Jason Messer, and the Byerly Brothers were the only guys we ever saw a picture of wakeskating. Erich deserves respect from every single one of us. He is as O.G. as it gets in this game, and has helped push wakeskating in a direction all it's own away from the lame strapper scene. Nobody has accomplished what he has in the "wake scene". Integrity has provided a business model for Remote, Water Monsters, and all the other independent board companies, not to mention a model for a quality board design. Integs have basically been built the same for almost a decade, and everyone else is finally starting to catch on...
And for the record, I know for a fact that he still gets out and rides. But why does that even matter?
There's my two pennies...

Your post belittles what a great number of people have dedicated countless hours and finances to......... I know your trying to express your respect for your friend, which i applaud. But to say he has accomplished any more then anyone else in the wake scene is a bit much....... What tool of measurement are we using for that anyway?
Respectfully.

I can see how that statement was not worded so well. What I meant by that is that he is an independent wakeskate manufacturer who has lasted 9 years. That is an amazing accomplishment when you look at how many new wakeskate companies and even more new wakeboard companies have come and gone.
It was not my intention to belittle anyone or anything. I have a ton of respect for the people past and present who have lived and breathed wakeskating.

I don't think Leif is belitilling anybody. There are very few in this industry that have as much time in,on and around it at a professional level then Erich, and the ones that do are behind the scenes at the big companies, save for a rider or two who still ride and stay in the public eye. I honestly don't know of one person who has dealt with the turmoil of the wake industry as much as Erich. Most don't know or care that Mutiny in its current form is the 3rd(that I'm aware of) version of the brand. Most people would have thrown in the towel long ago.
Damn, I tried so hard to stay out of this....
Erich is my friend so maybe I'm a bit biased.
P.S I believe Bobby is still involved.

As an aside, if it wasn't for Erich's products I would not be wakeskating. Once I tried an Integ I stopped wakeboarding all together over two years ago. Before that wakeskating was something I did after a couple of wakeboarding sets. Thank-you Erich!!!
