friends qutting wakeskating

I never thought i'd have this happen, but i've had so many of my friends quit wakeskating....it's to the point where i can barely even ride

i only have like two friends that are down to ride now out of like 10 that used to ride all the time.

my brother even hardly ever wants to ride anymore...

it sucks.

anybody else have this problem? i feel like i need to move somewhere else

Gnarly Dancer 42, ALL of my best friends (like the dudes I drink with all weekend and ride with all the time) strap so I can see your frustration. I do have wakeskate buddies that I've been riding with more often lately though.

It makes it hard to progress when all of your riding time is behind a boat that's full of wakeboarders, but we do have a damn good time everytime though.

no bueno bru. Try and teach some other shredders around your area. Might be time to find some real wakeskate friends. I lucked out. Wife and brother love shredding. A lot of peoples out side my 3 too around here.

Nick wrote somewhere ..or someones sig is "build your own scene!" I guess everyone goes through it at some point. Its just hard to find many people around the entire us who like this as much as we do.

shizzle i only have like one friend around here that even wakeskates and is down to go ride as much as we can. the others just dont seem interested or make excuses

i thought i was gonna be assed out when cheapskate moved to florida, but between southpaw driving across houston and a couple other baytonians that have stepped up, it has been a really fun season!

i've taught a lot of people but nobody has really gotten hooked, most of them just wanted to try it once

i ended up paying my friend 10 bucks to pull me at a winch spot today...maybe i just need to start paying people to wakeskate with me Smash

jcoffey, I use to be in the same boat as you (not literally) but just this season broke away from the giant sacked out strapping friend's boats and stuck with mostly wakeskaters. It's so nice~

I maybe strapped a couple of times when I was in high school. Didnt touch the water until I graduated college (all my time was spent on the baseball field or on school) and moved to FL. So I bought a strapper peice and started riding and got all of my new friends into it. All of a sudden I found my new love and never even brought out the straps. My riding days with friends was over. They got into it for about a year, and I guess its cause they didnt progress as fast as they thought. Then of course the second I start hitting rails and want to build them...they are totally bummed on the idea. I have to freakin beg friends to come pull me on the ski.

It just doesnt satisfy me when I go to the cable park and throw down and cant enjoy it with anyone but the cable operator who probly doesnt even care about a clean kicky or three shuv!

Every day we have at least 5 people trying to get a set on one John boat. Sets are 30-40 minutes long, so you gotta bring your a-game if you wanna progress.

On weekends, 8 or more. but we usually have another johnny floating.
