HD cameras....

i'm looking for an HD camera to film skating, snowboarding and wakeskating with, but i don't really know what i want exactly.

i know i don't want a tiny little touristy handy cam or a go pro, i want something the size of my gl1...

i also don't want to deal with tapes anymore....i was looking at the Panasonic hmc40

my price range is about $500 - $1,500

any ideas?

Get the Panny. Those are rad little cameras, I'm thinking about purchasing another Panasonic in the future.

I changed my mind about the size of the camera mattering, and I was thinking about the Panasonic Gh2.....

but I'm not sure if the lenes and microphone would make it end up costing way too much, what do you think?
