I am brand new to wake skating and I want to know what type of board I should purchase. I have been doing quite a bit of research on line, but all that did was give me all the types of boards out there to purchase.
I would prefer to buy used, but I would buy a new board if I needed. I am 5'11 and weigh about 190 lbs. From the research I have done, I believe I need a board that is 40-42. My friend who is intermediate at wakeskating recommended I purchase a hyperlite concave that has a foam top (as the grip top will most likely tear up the skin).
I would be pulled behind a skiboat. I would also hope that the board would be usable by my gf (5'6, 112lbs).
Please provide advice of type of board I should be looking at and where to purchase? hyperlinks to actual boards would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance. |

| rtheis, board size in wakeskating is personal preference too a point. I'm 5'11, 190lb and I'm riding a 39.5" integrity and would never buy a bigger board again I don't think. |

I'm riding a 38" bi-level. I'm the same height but 40 lb lighter.
Get something that you can grow into (skills). These aren't like hockey skates where you have to get something that fits. |

| The link to the New boards, are they set to go or do I need to put a foam on the top? I appreciate the responses. I do want something I can grow into as I do that with just about everything I buy. |

| rtheis, I'd be careful ordering from New. I had to go through alot of BS and in the end never even got the board..just had to get my money back 3 months later! Maybe they've changed tho... |

fins is also a preference thing. Take some sets with fins and a few sets without and see what you like! _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |
