Man i love that graphic on the impulse. So clean. Mod isn't bad either. The shape looks pretty sick.

lowlife_slim, Sorry, that wasn't necessarily directed at you. I just see that term thrown around a lot and in some contexts (not necessarily yours) it bothers me.

Another thing I don't understand: asymmetrical wakeskates. This I honestly do not get, and would really like someone to explain to me in a way that makes sense.

Just.. why?

i can tell you that the majority of skateboards i have ever ridden are asymmetrical. the nose is usually a bit longer, has a bit more pop, and is a bit wider. i can understand why a wakeskate might be shaped similarly.

for me, i felt like it adds a little more of a pocket for your toe to catch on for flip tricks. and of course, more pop for nollie and fakie tricks... which dont translate to the water. Smile

I've skateboarded for over 7 years now and i don't get it in skateboarding either. What it really always comes to is, why not make both sides that way?

I have a mod if anyone wants to trade for a board they have.... maybe 6 rides on it.

Slapdown, Narrow tale means u can kick that thing deeper into the water which creates more pop. It's less stable on landing's though. So with a wider nose u have a stable switch landing and a solid pop when u are heading regular. Unfortunatly, i think that a wider nose makes the board ride alot higher which make's u slip out easier when landing switch. I think the key to riding an a-sym board is rocking a fin on the nose and finless on the tail................ because of the above noted.

also, different strokes for different folks. How many different surfboard styles are there ? They all have a place and time.......

The 2011 MOD rides exactly like the wood skates. I am not a fan of the graphics but I love the way it rides! I with the mod had the impulse graphics because that graphic is awesome! It brings me back to the 2004/05 cassettes for some reason. If you live in MN and want to take a set with it let me know. We will have to use your boat though because mine is still down.
