I can't believe I didn't put this one, Aaron Reed teaching me to wakeskate, on his skate!
It was the last day of wakeboard camp and I was about to take a last afternoon of sets and was tired/sore from the week. Aaron took about 4 of us out with his skate (I don't even remember how long ago this was, it was a grey cassette with black projector on it i think, so like, 2002?) and taught us how to do stylish boardslide laybacks on the wake, i came close to landing my first shuv that day. Before that I had wakeskated once or twice before but he really got me hooked and showed me how much fun wakeskating is.

The first time I rode on Anna Maria was definitely my biggest moment. We were riding in like 2 feet of water, so everyone just stood around in the water by the shore and watched you ride. At one point while I was riding, I looked up and everyone was pointing at something in the water. I was sure it was a shark (this was my first time riding in the ocean).
As I got closer, I realized it was two dolphins after seeing one of them fling a fish high in the air with its tail. When I got up to them, they started swimming with me directly beneath my wakeskate! To be honest, I got behind the wake of the jet ski because I was scared to be in the territory of an animal that big. Regardless, it was one of the coolest experiences of my life. Nick, thanks once again for giving me the chance to experience that!

Similar to dbanana, my best moments were the first times my kids got up on a wakeskate. It was also very cool when my daughter got to hang out & chat with Byerly at the local boat show.

One of the first few times nick headed over here to ride he brought his "grinch" and those few winch sessions that were taken opened up my eyes to a whole new aspect of wakeskating. Winching has become one of my favorite parts of wakeskating.
and my first set at the projects. I thought I was dreaming...

Like everyone else, I have so many. But I would say the first day back on the water after surgery, being out for a year in 2003. There is something about being injured that gives you clarity and that day will stay with me forever. Since then there have been many times I've taken things too seriously, been lazy, or hard on myself and I always end up thinking about that first set, feeling free, the pure ecstasy of gliding across the lake, and the appreciation I have for water and its various forms. It always sets me straight.
Thanks for sharing all the great moments!
