jacque_mehoff That was probably a good two years ago. I'd be down for some Lake Michigan sessions if I had the gear!

ick ive yet to see a board mouth go pro, but im not sure how much i liked that, kinda made me dizzy. The only thing i liked was the beni hana everything else just looked like body varials lol. Vflip was kinda cool, but pretty splashy, spinny and crazy.

Sick though, just dont like the angle.

fair bit of kite-wakeskating with a nice edit and chooon!

Got me a kiteskate on the way soon-ish. cant wait. they're longer and flatter than regular skates due to the need to stay upwind. little bit less rocker so you actually need to use the chop as little kickers to get good height.

kiting is full of kooks for sure.. but its slowly becoming a legitimate tow.. check out kitescoop.com for wake related kiting..

GnarShredd, i'm from UK and ride in North Wales.

Hopefully got the new Airush skate coming soon but for now, i ride a strapless skim behind a kite.. works ok for shuvs and ollies and stuff.

Andre is a sick rider.

I have an old Wipika Skate...... Definitely a different set up for sure.

jacque_mehoff show me those titties!

seriously getting a kiteskate?! I must try!

Someone almost drowned on Lake Michigan kiteboarding, his dry suit started filling up with water and was taking him down. Luckily a surfer dude was there to throw him on his deck and save the day. Laughing True Wisconsin Story.

Do you have the link for the story?

I already have the kiteskate. Bought it in 2003. I landed my first and maybe only shuv on it!

You can check it out and ride it.

I hear kitemares about dry suits all the time. Mainly, it's not zippered all the way, they ride out, fall in the water and are 1/2 mile+ from shore.

Not sure why they don't wear 6/5's etc.

Damn!

Someone linked over to this thread from KiteScoop.com and I just wanted to say thanks for all the positive feedback! I have been browsing your forums for awhile reading all the trick tips I could and they've definitely helped. It makes it all the more meaningful that you guys are stoked on what me and other kiters are doing.

Skating behind a kite has just started to gain some traction and we have a long way to go before we're busting anything as tech as what you guys are throwing down. I have to say I'm stoked on the open and positive attitude everyone here has towards kiting in general.

I know there are a lot of kooky looking people kiting, but there is a growing core group of riders pushing the limits and trying to consolidate what other board sports have done into a cohesive modern style.

Alright, this post went a bit cheeseball. Here's another clip I did from a different angle. Enjoy!

No kidding. I'm trying to get my hands on an HD one. Maybe get some better footage. Won't really help with the crap editing though. Ha.

I just started Kiting this past November, it's a blast. I can't wait until I get a little better and put myself on to a skate to see how that goes..

Same here, i have been kiting for a while now too, only on the sea with high waves. Have to get a bit better and I will certainly try it in october when i go on holidays where there is a flatwater lagoon.

To everybody who wants to start kiting: take lessons or get someone to teach you. In Holland serveral people where killed and got serverly injured the past years. Kiting is generally not dangerous if you keep yourself to some basic rules, if not you can find yourself being dragged trough the water and slammed to some rocks or trees. Like the guy in the 1st vid.

truth,

but if it is a friend of colleague who is one of the guys that got killed, it is a bit close. it hasnt stopped me for having fun at kiteboarding though , just made me more cautious (the guy who got killed was really unlucky, he got caught by a whirlwind so all his expercience (he was a kite instructor) didnt help him.....)

the guy in the 1st vid looks like a unexperineced retard who could have broken his back or worst, if you know what you are doin you are not dragged over the beach by the 1st little squal

still cant wait for october
