i hate seeing people with the newest vest/rope/wakeskate/shoes that come out every year.

im still riding my 484 and i use under armor shoes.

iVance, why do you hate it? wakeskating is my passion and I dont mind spending the money on gear because its something i will use a lot. i rather spend my extra cash on wakeskating than anything else because wakeskating is what i love.

people don't spend money on it because they have to. They buy shizzle and support wakeskating because they want to.

If you 'truely loved wakeskating you wouldn't give a shizzle what vest/rope/wakeskate/shoes someone was wearing.
If no one was buying a new vest/rope/wakeskate/shoes there wouldn't be an industry which means no pro riders, videos, and all companies that make wakeskate specific products would go broke ect.....

It's pretty stupid to say that the amount of money someone spends on gear has anything to to with their love for the sport. Confused

iVance, People just enjoy nice things... Thats something that doesn't bother you about wakeskating, that's something that bothers you about people in general. It just differs from person to person.

Buying new gear is what gives the industry capitol to innovate and produce new products. I'm in need of all new gear, even though everything I have is in great shape(including my 5yr old daytons)

RUSSIAN, Because if your way isn't the right way then your not being true to the sport so everyone believes they are doing it right and not just wasting their time wakeskating the wrong way.

When are we going to see a big spin to lock in or at least a big spin onto a rail and the rider slide longer then just the last 5 feet or so?

the point is THERE IS NO WRONG WAY. There are people that have influence that believe anything but winching an unknown gap is THE only legit way to wakeskate. Just an example.
