nah. you gotta get rid of some of that teenage angst you got built up, bro. when your under the sun and on top of the water, i guarantee no one is thinking about the politics of the board industry.
Mr. Top Hat, that would be dope. but no1 is gunna do that because everyone thinks you have to ride a concave to shred.
I would love to own a solid as hell flat deck (if the shape was right). All i rode before i got a integ was a old 43" Cassette flat. I loved it, it was solid as fugh but it was just too narrow and long. If i could have that same solidness that it's held over the years in a new, better shaped deck i'd buy one. _________________ When it rains, it pours.

I used to ride that board back in the day as well. I loved it; it was very fun to ride.

RC, same here man, my first deck was a $79 liquid force flat deck, thing lasted a few months and cracked straight down the middle, but damn that thing was perfect to learn on. Then i got an integ looking for durability and longevity, but then realized it was way or light.

-=AlexXx=-, word. Those boards were sick. Some people would kind of freak out at first when they saw them 'cause they seemed really wide and a bit on the heavy side. But so many people that I hooked up with demos loved riding it.
I have relatively big feet, so that extra room was awesome. The boards were forgiving, predictable, popped good, etc.
The polyethylene base was really cool. Especially when considering it's a "low end", low cost, flat deck. Years back, Chris Ramirez was riding one in a local TSR contest and he started his run by sliding the length of the dock into the lake. There was a sharp rock sticking up between two dock planks and he slid right over it. Any other wood deck would've had a huge gash in it. But on the Steadfast it just tore into the poly base. It damaged the base for sure; but it didn't even touch the wood and you could repair those bases (just like snowboards).
SCBrips, Ya they look dope. I was considering getting one of the flat decks when integ had that rider stimulus package... wish now that i would have. Id love if Mutiny/integ made some cheap flat decks, id buy one for sure.
PIRATE, would you like these companies to outsource to China? Dude, I'll have the Integrity Lao Tzu pro model for $45. I hope it lasts for my whole set.
Louisiana style (don't write it off as Nick style because its an integ)
Germany
David Roehm has some sweet videos on Blast, really like his style. You can't forget what came out of France with Kevin Calvez and Pierre Atruz, Kallas from down under, Yan Lecompte from Canada, that kid Daniel Grant from Thailand. Unless these guys come to the states, its unlikely you'll see photos of them in Alliance or Wakeboard Mag because even if they send shots in, if they were to run the photos, the shots wouldn't fit in next to a Letchworth or Soderlind photo. Quality control.
Paulownia is about 17-21lbs/cuft while Maple is about 45lbs/cuft,
boards would have to be twice as thick to be a comparable weight to what boards are now. Seal it all you want, you couldn't put enough sealant to make up that weight.

Your wakeskating is really good. But its a shame you missed out on real Wakeskating. Your 360 flips are awesome, your bluntslides the best, and your poked out ollies are banging..... You look just like TNT, Reed (both of them) and who'm ever else you emulate. I'm glad you can all get along and agree upon a style that works for everyone. Why do things different when Looking just like Nick Taylor, has worked out so well for everyone else.
Board Company's; Thanks for keeping it real (and real expensive). For the record florida is now called Real. Why try and expand on the country or the world for that matter, when florida seems to be working out so well. God forbid we see what wakeskating looks like in other parts of the world. Let us not look at new materials or shapes, after all, you have put a solid 6yr's of R&D into it. Surfing/snowboarding/skating were all done in 6-10yrs aswell...
(why has no one looked at making boards out of Paulownia wood?) I also want to thank your for screwing the small percentage of people who actually wanted to buy boards from you. $300-400? Really? Keep justifying the prices by saying you poured your heart and sould into it..... Cause there is no doubt from where i stand, that you no longer have a soul.
Shame on us (the OG WS.COM'ers) for not keeping with the level of Descent that was prevealent for sooooooo many years. These forumns were the voice of the streets for along time. Now all I hear are the echo's of industry.
Wakeskating I loved you, we shared some great times. But you have lost your way. You look nothing like the girl i fell for so many years ago. I will be riding a bindingless board still, but I hesitate to call it wakeskating. If you change your mind and want the life we once had, You have my number.
a cheap reliable wood deck would be awesome right now.
i think the problem is all the crazy new features and research and shenanigans going into a board to make you a "better" rider just like in the skate and snowboard idustries. A good board doesnt make you a good rider, you do. You can see examples of this all the time on this site especially when new comers ask " what board will make me better?"
im down for progression of board tech but at what point can it go to without being completely useless. At what point are we gonna to realize the board is doing all the riding for me, and the fun of the sport is gone. the kids i think that shred the hardest are the ones with the $50 flat deck or the used snowboard they got off craigslist, and can still throwdown just as hard as the kids riding 800 skate bananas (no hate). its
To Pirate I have only one thing to say "buy an integ"
I wonder how many other people here get that.
PIRATE, so you're quitting the forum/wakeskating again and you still haven't realized that your goodbye posts mean nothing? I thought the "OG WS.com'ers" requested you just leave in silence next time you change your ever changing chick-like opinions. You get a rise out of all the new members because they haven't seen you do this before. Your prime has passed let the new generation of Hansen, Taylor, and Pastura take the torch. Your toe shuv indys at 45 feet just don't cut it anymore, and I'm sorry that you couldn't keep up with wakeskating and stay sponsored. I know that's all it really is to you. I wish you could have made it. I don't have your number anymore but if you want to give it to me I'll give you a call next time I'm in your area and riding.
Oh yeah, and if anything at all in this post bothered you... just wait another 10 posts I will let everyone know I was just kidding.
