well i feel its just their place to exemplify style, just from being in it for so long, but most kids getting into it are trying top hard push their riding tricks wise rather than their unique style, and is just more worried about catching up (which in my case i catch myself being guilty of time to time and i am upset for that but hey, im just trying to keep up, plus its fun to feel one step closer to the big dogs) but for sure i get what your saying but it will be hard to see that from many people trying to make their mark on the sport, its a bit easier to really tap into the real soul and gracefulness of wakeskating when your so caught up in the race of it. its alot easier for people like areed and grubb who dont need to sprint when they already ran their race.
but i dont disagree with the fact of learning your stride, and the way your taking your stance at the block before you hit the track, gotta have good composure, breh. |

You're a f*cking moron. Seriously. You = dumb. I've always hated your pseudo intellectual posts. You always want to come off as some "soul skater" that only rides for the "right" reasons. Who the f*ck are you?
Your criticisms are trite and prosaic. Please, stop purporting to be some sort of ultimate wakeskating analyst that is beyond reproach. You are simply a tedious, whining cynic.
And please, stop waxing nostalgic about the "good 'ol days". Believe me, I love looking to the past and seeing wakeskating (and wakeboarding!) at their rudimentary levels. But would I really want to go back to them? No. That's not progression. That's not evolution. Wakeskating is at it's best right now. More people are riding than ever, the tricks are getting goddamn insane, board designs continue to improve, people actually know what it is, etc etc....
And dude, your post is clearly incendiary. Yet you don't even have the balls to call anyone out directly. It's the f*cking internet homeboy. Are you skurred?
All these people that you are (not) calling out are doing their part to shape the industry, whether you like it or not. You are typing words on the tubes. If you really want to change what's going on in the sport, do something about it. Don't come on here to cry like a little b*tch with a skinned knee and sh*t.
Additionally, if you're going to try to come off as someone who really knows what they're talking about and has the right to talk sh*t, learn to f*cking spell! Honestly, there is a f*cking spell check when you are banging out your pearls on wakeskating.com. Those red lines under the words are indications that you f*cked up. Take two seconds to look it up in a dictionary.
Whatever. This whole thread is ridiculous. But then again, maybe your point was simply to get people to write some real sh*t. If so, my hat's off to you. And who knows... maybe you don't even really exist. This could just be scott a playing a joke on us all... being a but PIRATE.
Oh... and I don't really like riding cable but I prefer it over sattelyte.
I apologize for that last one. That was my lame attempt to be clever. Otherwise known as pulling a pirate (sounds gay/it is).

Pirate, if you think all of those things are real problems, I have a real solution. Teach everyone you can how to wakeskate. Have you ever gotten someone up for the first time, do you remember how happy they were, that is wakeskating. If more people in the world wakeskated, this will solve all of your complaints. I'll promise to do my part if you promise to do yours, cause this thread isnt doing it. _________________ "it's just wakeskating, no one knows who you are............ except for maybe some kids on the internet" Nick Sloan |

As long as wakeskating doesn't get a publication akin to 'Thrasher', i'll be happy.
The last thing i want this great pastime associated with is devils, death and all things evil. I can see thinking evil is cool if you're some inner-city, wrecked-home, street punk on a skateboard...but when i'm out on the water, in that most bad-ass element of all-water, then the last thing i associate the feeling with is some devil shizzle.
Hopefully wakeskating can remain purer than that. I really hope it never gets taken over by the 'evil-is-cool' dumbasses.

Hey everyone. Free pulls behind my winch (weekends in tampa/st pete). First time learners, to uber shredders, to those who just like to do surface 3's while wearing water wings and a purple leotard are all welcome. |

"thats fvcking interesting man" (dude voice) While I fully agree with you about the Devil/evil BS. I have to admit that Thrasher (like Big Brother) brings something cool to the table in that; they were the voice of the streets in the early-late 90's. Wakeskating needs that, this sight used to be that. Not 3 years ago Areed used to come one here and beach about me bitching. For a time this sight was a voice that couldn't go un-heard. I believe that, had it not been for ws.com you probably wouldn't have the quality of boards that you have now. There was a time when all wood wakeskates were falling apart. People on here complained like crazy...... and now wakeskate quality is better then ever. Does dropping 4bills on a skate not bother you guys? At what point do you say "alright, to hell with this. I'm buying "that" board cause there not shafting everyone. _________________

Not at all. I'd much rather drop $425 for a skate handmade by riders in the U.S.A. that will support a progressive company in our sport rather than to buy some deck that's going to fall apart like the Thailand made piece-o-shi t it is. _________________ When it rains, it pours. |

I hear ya about thrasher being a somewhat grass-roots, pioneering mag...but inevitably it was infiltrated by corporations that knew young, impressionable kids could be groomed into digging ads laden with evil images.....
Thrasher became the Hustler of skate youth. And i was a buyer.
I'm older and wiser now, and when me and my son spend a day on the water, seeing each other wipe-out over and over, then suddenly nail the tricks, followed by the sun setting over the water....well, that feeling is pure and good and true.
Hopefully wakeskating stays that way.
It's a cool-ass thing we love. Genuine smiles. Good times fo sho. _________________ "Whenever you find a man who says he does not believe in a real right and wrong, you will find this same man contradicting that a moment later."-CS Lewis |

Mr. Top Hat, that would be dope. but no1 is gunna do that because everyone thinks you have to ride a concave to shred. Which we both know that is not the case. Bi levels and these crazy fulcrum designs are taking over, some times less is more. |
