I don't know if you can say company is truly the parent company (or, I wouldn't describe it like that). It seems like remote and company are treated as separate entities, but they share distribution chanels and such. It's not like a wakeboarding company dual branding wakeskates or something like that.

Here's andrew's mini-Remote interview. http://www.wakeskating.com/showarticle.php?a=802

I will post silas' later on this evening.

Also, I put links to the boardstop in both of those becuase I don't know of any other place online (yet, anyway) where you can get the remote soft goods and of course, remote stickers. Ed should be getting the wakeskates and handles as well.

i don't have any more hard evidence, but i remember reading an interview with justin stephens saying that company would be starting to produce wakeskates, and that is where remote came about. In a full guess i would say that J.S. is the owner, with riders being part owners. the same way randall, nicola, greg, etc are part owners.

ShutItDown, there are three pro models, and then you posted a shot of the very first remote that came off of the production line. That's basically a one of a kind graphic they're giving away.

mojo, I'm not by any means trying to say that remote and company aren't linked. I'm just saying that remote is given a bit more credit than being "just a wakeskate divsion" of a wakeboard company. For instance, my remote shirts have a remote logo on the outside and on the inside, as opposed to having a remote logo on the outside and than a company logo on the inside. But maybe my impression is off.

Anyway, here's silas' graf. I love it. It has a rendition of the gal on the morton salt container. And according to the guys, the graphics are going to be changing after awhile; they're not going to have one season of the same graphic.

I really dig the current graphic line...I'm not sure how I feel about the frequent graphic changes. I only say this because I look at skateboarding, and how graphics used to have a greater impact and more detail because they were meant to last a full season or more. Now graphics rotate frequently, and most don't have the visual impact of the older graphics. But it could prove to be something really good, only because some companies in the wake industry have full season graphics that completely suck and aren't worth keeping around anyway.

Well in the article they said they aren't doing anything fancy. Just making damn good skates. I think that mindset is sweet. Plus the frequent changes make your board more "exclusive."

what kind of wood are they made out of? or is it just remote's design and new's process?

mojo, I don't think they're going to release that (or they're trying not to anyway). Here's silas' mini interview and he does a good job of shedding more light on Remote as a whole.

ShutItDown, true. They have the best of intentions! Cool

welp, Silas' interview clinched it for me. I will be ordering a 40.5 as soon as i can; even if I happen to be honored with that 1st production deck. being 5'7 wearing an 8.5-9 shoe and being the not uber skinny side it sounds perfect.

Just as a little remote clarification, remote wakeskates is its own thing and company wakeboards are their own thing. The business Company wake inc is the parent company that distributes boards from both brands. Just reading reactions on here and looking at other announcements/write ups from other sites, the whole thing seemed kind of misleading (mainly from a terminology standpoint).

So yes, you are buying wakeskates from a wakeskate company!
