So ULM WAKE is out to start a new tradition. We have been doin it big since we started this fall, and now we are gonna do it HUGE! So I give you the SPRING FEVER RAIL JAM! Its all goin down on Friday
April 23rd. It will be held on Bayou Desiard next to Bayou Park, between the foot bridge and the main bridge.
We will have a live DJ all day long on Friday. We will have some sort of FREE FOOD around 1 or 2 in Bayou Park. At the same time we will be taking a break in the tourney to have a exhibition of some semi-professional and possibly professional riding goin down on the rails. There will be a 1 dollar raffle for a brand new 2009 Company Severance 138 with Company Pro Bindings (this set up retails for around 800). Company Wakeboards and O'Brien Watersports are donating some gear for prizes. Local vendors will be set up with their displays all day friday!
This a team event. All schools are welcome to enter. If there is enough interest we will continue a individual event on Saturday April 24th. There will be a entry fee to be determined. If you or your school is interested in competing, send Nick McDonald a message.
Camping will be available in the Groove by the football stadium for out of town teams and fans. ALCOHOL IS ALLOWED! There will be a ULM police officer in the Groove though most of the night. "Super Loud" stereo systems are not allowed in the camping area due to the President's house is across the street and we cant disturb his sleep now can we? I know since this is a Friday event, There will be some scheduling conflicts. We are scheduled to start at 10. The teams that show thursday night will go first, followed by the teams who arrive on Friday morning.
There is a concert by a pretty major band on Thursday night. If there is enough interest I can get a group buy on tickets for a discount, I need to know by 2 weeks in advance though. These tickets will be 15 dollars a person. Friday night there will be some sort or party either at a local bar (across the bayou), or in the camping area. RAILS WILL REMAIN UP TILL MONDAY MORNING. You are welcome to stay on saturday and sunday and session the rails for a small fee! Im sure some guys will be going to the Ouachita River on Saturday and Sunday. If you wold like to catch a ride behind a boat, just let us know that you will be staying that long.
ALL ULM STUDENTS! COME SUPPORT YOUR WARHAWK WAKE TEAM ON FRIDAY APRIL 23!
