it's not just the sock liner that's supposed to be different. that shoe is supposed to have an "overlay rubber molding" (looks like rubberized mesh) on the side pannel of the shoe to protect the shoe from the grip.

travis might be running some samples already or something. I've been bugging ed for the past couple of months about those shoes and he still hasn't heard anything from his DVS rep about them.

Hey, I was at the demo today and checked them out briefly. Seem fairly basic, the top of the toes seemed like the normal mesh and the sides were a rubber material, but it didn't seem like they had any holes on the side, maybe just couldn't see them. I like the color combo on them though, but the dvsxcassette model seemed way more blinged out. Nice shoes

The K-Man, I haven't seen them in person, but I tend to agree with you. To me, one thing that made the cassette dayton cool was it was like an exclusive wakeskate design. the coen seems to be the annual mesh release from dvs, and then the obscura version is stepped up a notch with the mesh on the side and the footbeds.

Don't get me wrong, I couldn't be happier that DVS is making all of these shoes for wakeskating and I love that they're putting more of the materials on the release shoes that they've used on team samples and such. But comparing the two shoes, I just really dig the daytons.

Outside of that, how was the demo k-man? did you do any wakeskating?

like TTUFAN24 said, they don't look like dresdens at all.
i hated the dresdens. their unstable soles sucked so much.

The Coen wake shoes were supposed to have the Obscura insoles, but the first run came out without them. The next run will have them and they are making the Obscura insoles now, and they should ship in about 2 to 3 weeks to all the shops that received the first shipment. If you run a shop that has received the first shipment, contact your DVS rep and they should straighten you out. Sorry for the confusion.

Thanks,

Aaron
