"There are also more 13 year olds in juvenile detention centers than there are in high school"

WOW, can't really argue with that, as they were just pointing out facts. I think the brits are on to something... :shifty:

I can't say I'm surprised though, considering how much of our prion system is privatized and corporate owned.

Why can't we have any non-biased political shows here in the US? One's that point out fact, not speculation and opinion. O ya that's right, our media is ran by our industry leaders to their advantage just like a 100 years ago.

P.S. I love British humor.

Simple solution, don't do illegal things and you wont end up behind bars. Why is that difficult to understand? I found it very interesting that our prisoners are producing that much product, I had no idea, I think its great. Its bettering our economy instead of us having to outsource to China or India as much. But for you who think it is outrageous for a thief who stole DVDs to be in jail, think about if Hammurabi code was still around... he may not be in jail but he would lack hands so it would make him physically not be able to steal any more solving his theft issues.

Classy, Or I can just keep choosing to not care much about politics, and focus on the finer things in life, like what Vince Carter did to the New Orleans Hornets last night. Smash

He said 17 year olds in jail than college. 1 in 100, that's an amazing statistic

its kinda hard to defend the seventeen year old in jail statistic. at 17 most people are not in jail or college and it would require a bit of effort to end up in either one. instead of making the effort required to go to college at 17, more end up choosing to commit crimes instead. its not like its that unheard of to go to college at 17 anyways

-=AlexXx=-, my mom and both my roomates over summer started college at 17, its not that crazy of a feat. i would also hope that i can name more people that started college at a younger age then i could for being in jail, wouldn't you?

yookyle, how is the stat bs because most 17yr olds are in high school? and you would accept it if more 19 year olds were in jail then college?

how are some of you people justifying this to yourselves? I just can't understand how most of you are finding this acceptable

"well of course theres going to be more kids in jail then college, they're seventeen goddamit, they should still be in highschool." Rolling Eyes

If I had graduated a semester early from highschool and gone straight to college, I would have still been 18.

Mr. Top Hat, 100% of 17 year olds are meet the requirements of going to jails. It's called be human, you screw up, you go to jail. However, not very many 17 year olds meet the requirements to go to college at that age( enough credits and such)

It would be interesting to see the difference in the numbers between age 17 and nineteen like yookyle is talking about.

I'm not saying the stat is BS, however it is kind of off a little. The average age of college freshmen is 18 or 19.

however it is sad when you look at the fact that most 17 year olds would rather "get into trouble" or life a life style leading to jail, than commit themselves to their schooling, graduate highschool early and move onto college. No matter what, people cannot deny that...
