wisconsinkid91, welcome to the forums The hyperlite scape is probably a good board to start out on, but may not last you very long, because after you learn how to get up and carve around and stuff, there's not much else you can do on that board. Unless you are willing to pay for a new board after you learn how to get up and get control of the board, then I would return it and purchase a better one. There are a lot of companies out there that have good boards for a reasonable price (New wakeskates, Oak wakeskates, etc.) Then you can go get your shred on |

This is whats wrong with these forums. All this info you just told this guy is BS. He could probably ride this board forever and never have a problem with durability or progression. Its just not cool anymore to ride a hyperlite so all you sheep who cant think for yourselves wanna just be like whats cool at the moment.
This guy hasn't even touched his feet into the water yet and already hes being drowned by what makes wakeskating suck the most! |

Like others have said it's a perfectly fine board to learn on. Go out have fun and learn the basics...
By the time you learn the basics on that deck you'll know what YOU really want from your next skate.
I think too many people forget how many of your favorite "pro's" learned on flat decks. _________________ arson-wake.com |

wisconsinkid91, Dont let these guys kill your stoke for the board. Some og guys, and even some newer guys have shreded like crasy on flat decks. go out, have some fun. Watch some videos, dream on tricks, make them work, pump you fist, and get your friends stoked on the sport... _________________ 10101 |

I would try to trade it for a CWB lucky. It's my flat deck of choice. _________________ www.unicornofthesea.com |

I <3 flatdecks i have a Simplex but before that all i had for the past couple years was an old 02 Cassette Flat deck. The guys i ride with had nice new wood concaves and always tried to get me to upgrade but i really liked my cassette and the way it rode. Once i started progressing where i thought a more stable board would help me, i upgraded b/c i figured i knew what i wanted by that point. I got the simplex b/c it was a little lighter than my friends wood concaves like my flatdeck. Now i love my skate and wouldnt change it for anything. I know now that it's what i needed and thank God i didn't take their advice and go buy a deck i would have been unsatisfied with after awhile. Go beat guts out of that deck and by that point you'll know what you need next
