Did you know that the majority of viruses are created by the virus protection companies themselves... it's all a business. They also tend to mask themselves as some kind of "protection"... and it basically tricks you into being a moron.
This is why some prefer Mac over PC...
I am a PC, personally, but have you tried system restore? |

He is absolutely right. Never ever buy top named Virus Protection. Find the little guy out there trying to make a difference in this world. I use AVG and yet to have a problem....knock on wood. |

winch4fun, good! I used to use AVG, and some people on here suggest AVAST and i have been very happy with it
gporter, OH! ya i forgot about restore
coricluster, If you have a dell, some older types (like my desk top being 3-4 years old) have a Systamatics Restore where it rolls your computer back to the day you got it. My newer 1 year old Dell laptop does not have this amazing ability, which pissed me off the first time i got infected... but any who, you just have to figure out how to do it usually u push f4 or f11 or something on the dell loading screen and it will prompt you to do some other things and then clean ya off. Maybe google it. Its great for a fresh clean start! Dont waste your money on a new machine just yet! |

start>all programs>accessories>system tools>system restore...
It really is a miracle worker
My only feud with AVG is the false/positives... but Avira and Avast are both just as good. Just remember that they aren't little guys either, because AVG will try to sell you the premium version...
Everybody is out to make money..
Try going to this site, www.majorgeeks.com
Lots of freeware, spybot SnD is a good program, Ccleaner, and Windows Firewall does the job. It's all a personal preference, though, as it should be. |
