I wonder how many cameras they went through because those shutters would be shot after all those actuations.

1500 hours of moving legobricks and take photos of them.

Eh, shutters last longer than you think. Most of the newer Canons and Nikons are built to go at least 100,000 actuations before the shutter breaks, and if my math is correct they shot around 40,000 pics for that video.
