hey i'm looking to buy a new wakeskate. ive waterskiied and wakeboarded for a while now and im good at both and i want to get into wakeskating - it looks addicting.

i like the oak boards, the graphics and theyve gotten good reviews. at 6'2" 165 which would i like best? i know its a preferrence thing, but what does more width previde / why would someone prefer a skinnier board? also where can i buy oak boards... only sites ive found have had like 2 models only in stock.

ive also looked around at gator boards like the mcguckin model, LF control / anthem and hyperlite ... but nothing cuaght my eye like the oaks.

palmwake, almost everywhere is out of 2009 oaks, so you will have to wait a couple months for the 2010 oaks. the oaks are worth waiting for. shouldnt be too long til they are released

oaks are great boards. i rode one forever and the owner mikey t is an awesome guy. the only problem with wood boards is over time they delam. my oak lasted me 3 years, granted i sealed it alot. they're awesome and if woods your thing you should definitely wait for their new 2010 models.

if you want a skate that will last you a long time and can take a beating check out integrity wakeskates. they're composite boards and they also make them with birch/bamboo cores to have a wood feel. they have several sizes and several models for any price range really. i've pogressed like crazy on my integ. i have a friend who is your height but weights 210 and rides the 38" nick taylor. so it's all preference really.

try to demo some peoples boards so you can get an idea. where are you from?

Oak is a solid choice. IMO they're the best wood boards out now and the graphics are generally pretty awesome. I'm 6'3" or so and weigh about 200. I'm riding the Ben Horan 41.5, I love it.

Before that I rode a Devotid bi-level and I think that was a 40.

If your gonna wait for the 2010 models look into remote

when do you think the 2010 oaks will be coming out.. i was kind of hoping to order a board in the next week or so.
any other recommendations? LFs (anthem / control) ? Gator boards (impala / drew mcguckin)?
