What's everyone doing this summer for work?

I'm doing a landscaping and mowing job at the high school I went to, and it sucks, so i'm starting to decide what to do next summer. Anyone had any good summer jobs during college?

Chad H, internships. You get paid lots and find out if what your studying is something you actually want to be doing when you graduate. Plus they come in real handy when you're looking for a real job.

This summer I'm working at the swimming pool at my school as a lifeguard. Being that there is no one at school during the summer, it's a reaaally easy job. We have camps come in maybe for 1 to 2 hours a day, but that's it. We aren't even open on weekends.

Last summer I worked at an all boys christian camp as a wakeboard instructor, on a super air nautique. It was pretty awesome. It was only a day trip thing so I only had to teach kids to get up, maybe jump wake to wake. And there were only trips 3 times a week. So I got to ride the other days of the week. The camp paid for all the gas.... and lunch. It was a real sick set up.

Chad H, you in the turf management program there at Auburn or are you just mowing grass for the heck of it?

senorbueno,I agree, internships are the way to go. Just finished my last one with golf course in Gulf Shores AL. Not only do they give you opportunity to see if you like the job, you get to travel and see what parts of the country(or world) you like for when you get out of school.

Not working this summer, riding as much as possible now that summer school is over!!!

Mr. Top Hat, Its a good internship job to have on your resume for my line of work im trying to get into. Plus it pays good, and if i get a weapons license, which im planning next month, thats even more pay for being able to carry a gun. Its and easy job. Its not like thats gunna be my profession... just a job to help me get through grad school. The majority of security jobs u sit there and do nothing so it will give me a great amount of time to read and study. But why do u say what u said?

EDIT:
Gnarly Dancer 42, my dad used to own a DQ. So good haha.

I had a sick job last year at Callaway Gardens. For 3 months I was a ski/wakeboard instructor by day then at night I performed in the circus.

It was sick. My buddy and I would skip lunch most days and ride since we kept 12-1 open on the schedule every day. And then we could ride until sundown as soon as lessons were over at 6. Every year the get a new fleet of Nautiques and we made good use of em.
