Well in an earlier post i said that i just turned 16 and got my permit and it was about boaters license. Well that means drivers license in 6 months. Well my grandma just sold her shore house or bay house (what ever u call it) in Avalon New Jersey last summer. It was right on the bay and u could just hop right on the boat and go wakeskate. So boaters license is alittle iffy right now. Well ill be able to drive to ponds and creeks to winch when i get my license. Problem is i dont have a winch yet. Ive narrowed it down to the Pulldozer. I was wondering if anybody has one and has riden behind one. and would say that it is a great winch to have. It looks nice on the website. Is it somewhat light and easy to move around from spot to spot. thxs guys. hope u can fill me in on some good things about it, before i waste money on a bad winch. |

I've never ridden one, but I hear good things. I can't remember any complaints from anyone about them. |

Look around on here. The decisions decisions thread has quite a few good ideas. Also the your winch thread. I was having same problem not too long ago. _________________ www.backyardrailpark.com |

ive ridden on a few times, honestly not my favorite winch, its a bit inconsistent... and a bit pricey compared to many other winches out there and also compared to how cheap and easy it is t build one. First i would suggest building one, and second, take a look at www.newwakeskates.com, the winch there is about as cheap as u can get and made with a wood so it does not rust its a hell of a lot lighter that steel, it is better at absorbing vibration and of course much more cost affective. Check it out. Its been my 2nd fav winch to ride behind, 2nd of course to a home made one. |

that was going to be my second choice of winches. I like it becase of all the things u just said. But it dosnet have wheels to roll it around and no handle to carry it around. Do u know of a way that I could maybe put wheels onto it or a handle. Because i like the NEW winch just as much. _________________

Terry, handles are really unnecessary because u can just have 2 people carry it... the front where the rope feeds through the fairlead is a handle of sort and the rear is just a end... where its no different from carrying a table or 18 pack! haha. Do you have spots far away from roads and non-dedicated friends that would make it absolutly necessary for wheels? Honestly if u asked im sure Barrett, from new, would throw on some wheels, or handles for ya. it would just make it heavier though. |

I personally like the pulldozer. Two cats around here have one. I like riding behind both. The good thing about that winch compared to my buddy's homemade winch is that it never had problems. The pulldozer was a beast and never left us in a bind. _________________ http://trihawk.fotki.com

Check out our winches www.reelwinchsystems.com
Our winches cost less than the pulldozer, and include wheels and a trailer hitch receiver.
There's a video on the winch forum of our winch in action. _________________ www.Reelwinchsystems.com |

Spill way, you need over 10 guys just to pull the rope out with those horrible ceramic bearings. I would not recommend a yoke at all
I say build your own, you will save 200% of your money, and learn all the parts and what each one does, that way when your winch does mess up, youll have an idea on how to get in there and do some TLC _________________ www.jimizwakenskate.com
