Hey all im new here! I was part of wakeboarder but kinda got out of that after i broke my face wakeboarding(Broken cheek bone, eye socket, nasal cavity, and 15 stiches) So i want to get into wakeskating. Ive riden my friends Obrien ????? and got up my first try(easy) and did a few little ollies and stuff. It was rough though so i didnt ride much. My grandparents are getting me a wakeskate for grad. Either, Hyperlite Cat 2.0 or Vinyl, or Byerly Legacy 39. Im 14 btw! They have a pontoon boat in Arkansas on a private lake and an older Reinell aswell. Hope to get shove-its and try kickflips for the 2 weeks im out there. I used to skate(Biker now) so i hope i can catch on quickly. Is the movement similar??
Just a Q. How bad do your ankles/shins get cut up learning tricks?? What about shin guards?? |

go with some kind of wood concave board so much better. yes your ankles and shins will get cut up thats part of being a wakeskater. nooooo never wear shin guards no please no thats some crazy shizzle. but good luck with it you will never feel the same strapping in again wakeskating is such a free feeling its crazy how much fun it is to just ride _________________ two words

counterpart, nice introduction, brother, and welcome to ws.com.
the movements are somewhat similar between wakeskating and skateboarding, but you'll find that they are different in a lot of ways.
And might i suggest an integrity..?

Ait im so confused about the shin guards..... haha! And ive looked at Integ. and i like what i see, but the only one in my budget is the dada, and i dont really care for it for some reason.... ive never riden it but it just doesnt seem like what ide like. The 5 ply thing doesnt seem stong enough for me...... How is it?? I need a cheap board but it needs to LAST..... Around $150 is my limit and ive found all the boards i listed for around that so....IDK!
And thanks for welcoming me!! |

That's quite the present for making it through 8th grade. Congrats though
Those boards all work but are kind of awkward to learn on. I suggest a small wood concave. |

Yeah i know haha.... Its kinda more a replacement for the wakeboard that broke my face though because i dont want to ride it because its a super ****** up and jagged edged board! |

you dont need shin guards
if you cant take getting bruised up go play video games!
go buy whatever board you want. dont let these guys tell you what they think you should ride. if you dont like it sell it and try something else. |

HELLL NOO!!!!!!!! No video games for me!!
I was only asking.
And i know i can just sell it but id rather take a better approach by seeing if they are reliable or not before i waste money. |
