If you had a choice of two different winches which would you choose and why? The choices are The Gonzalez by Ridiculous Winches or the Grinch Winch by Distortion. Both would be considered brand new with comparable options. (1000 ft. of line, 7 hp (Grinch) vs. 6.5 (Gonzalez), the gonzalez doesn't have a tow bar yet the grinch doesn't have wheels) Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also what winch would you recommend if neither of the above was chosen. I have heard pulldozer. Just trying to get a consensus before shelling out 1500 bucks. Thanks skaters

| I personally would go with the Grinch out of the two. But i LOVE my NEW winch...My friend has the grinch and my NEW > Grinch by far. I got the knock off motor too and it pulls like a dream. I heard the pulldozers were really good too but i have never ridden behind one so. But from my personal knowledge i say the NEW is a great option but if you can only pick between the two you said i say go with the Grinch. Also the NEW is a lot cheaper.

there are alot more winch builders than that selling products. do not buy the gonzales. do not support a lameace company. the grinch is really heavy. i hear pull dozers are nice. you could always buy a frame, spool, line, from a company like bullet lines , and then buy all your other stuff like engine, chain, tav, fairlead, wheels yourself and put it together. im sure you can find someone on here to explain all the little details to you.

thanks..... how long have you had yours so far? any problems? Saw another thread talking about slow response to emails and hard to get in contact with after placing orders for parts or completes.

| I have had mine since February and its been running perfect. No problems. Only thing is my friend messed up driving the winch and had the handle run full throttle into where the rope threads onto the spool so it broke that little piece off, but its not a big deal at all i just have to either fix it myself, or take it to them since i live close and have them fix it for me. Other than that i have never had one single problem with it. and if you pm AlexXx on here he will give you some more info about getting in contact with them.

I really like the REEL winch, it is most definitely a little pricier but it looks a little beefier than the NEW model. It just seems towing the wood frame around on the backwoods mississippi roads wouldn't be such a good idea. This is exactly what I was looking for though. I want to see all of my options and all the great designs out here for us lucky wakeskaters.

while it's not the best choice, it's an option http://www.buywake.com/catalog/detail/TNRYp

in a frame look for one with an adjustable engine mount so after you use a brand new chain 3 pulls you can tighten it back up, spray guard is nice, hitch mount, properly placed stake holders, good fair lead, detachable wheels, adjustable inner on the spool, and IMO those are some important things to take into consideration. obviously engine and gearing is important too, along with the lesser used brake. the one in the above picture is dope.

the urbanrider is very nice and a great choice. I wish I could afford 3500 for it but thats not quite the case. It would be nice. I really like the look of the mutiny! it looks cool as hell. are they for sale new or is it a used model, and if so what are the options and how much?

I have thought about it but I really don't have the time nor the equipment to do it. I think it would be a fun project. I would have no idea where to begin and the town I live in is a small small town and parts and supplies would be hard to come by (welding, help, etc.)
