Ok so I've decided to get an Oak wakeskate and I've ridden the 08 Horan and I really like it but I think I want a smaller board that has the same width as the team/Horan. Has anybody ridden the Chubby and how does it compare to the Horan? Is it as stable? What are your general observations/opinions on it?

Toxis, If people don't have a local shop that carries Oak much less will let you demo a wood board then they are SOL.

Anyone knows where to get the Oak Chubby? All the online webstores seem to be out of stock. Why is this board so popular? Or were they produced in limited numbers?

senorbueno, boardstop is out of chubby's to, it doesnt tell you till you get to the checkout page.

I tried to buy one a few weeks ago and contacted a few places from my understanding all the places that sold them sold out and mikey wasent going make anymore for a month or so. But that was a month or so ago that they told me that, so i would say contact oak and mikey will help you out. I've always had good service with them and mikey always seems to be on top of his emailing.

KCrider, if you can't find a Chubby, might want to look into their Chickin Thief (or whatever it's called). I looked at it last night and it's their 40 where the Chubby is a 39. Call Mikey (again) to see which he recommends.

The chubby is shaped different than the team/horan. Wider at the tails and I think it has different rails (correct me if im wrong.)

The Chubby is the Team/Horan cut down to a 39, thats why the nose and tail are so wide. The rails are the same as the team, horan and pit spitter though, a 45 degree angle. A few shops might have some chubbys sitting around but i know that Mikey is all out of them. i have a chickin thief right now and its money, i would recommend one of those if you can't find a chubby anywhere.

Is the tip and tail as high as the Team/Horan? The thing I like about the horan is the width. The chickin theif is slimmer. Do you think this makes much difference?

you well tell a difference between the horan and the chickin thief. but if you wanted a chubby originally the horan will way too big for you. The chickin thief has about the same surface area as the chubby
