gregg, that's the kind of attitude that results in Americans knowing absolutely nothing about Canada. Just because i'm Canadian doesnt mean i don't follow current events. I have a global persepective of the world...and i think in terms outside of my own country...and i suggest you try the same.

i really find some people discussing in this thread to have tunnel vision.
some choose to look at their pre-disposed, for some reason, side's president's good actions (or what they think are good actions), and not see their mistakes (or deny their existence). then they seem to only see the opponent to their pre disposed supportee's mistakes (and exagerate them) and dont see (or deny the existence of) their good deeds.

Matt_French, i undersatnd its good to have a world perspective on current events, although you since the results of the election dont effect you you dont really have the same point of view as the americans it effects.
and the reason we dont know a whole lot about Canada is because nothing really happens up there that effects he world. when there is an election, a war usually isnt a key issue. _________________ ride a lunch tray

gregg, Quote: | since the results of the election dont effect you |
Canada is a branch-plant economy...as are many other countries around the world...meaning that most of our major corporations are owned by American companies. Everything that happens in the United States has a direct effect on something in Canada. Every time a U.S. congressman takes a leak in a American river, four pillow factories in Alberta are shut down. Refer to Parky's map on the first page of this thread...the one where Canada is part of the U.S. Although he was just trying to poke fun...its not that far off the mark. So to say that the results of the election don't effect Canadians is wrong.
I may not have the same point of view as an American...but i have the Canadian spin on the whole situation. Does that make my (or any other Canadian's) points any less valid? |

gregg, i'm not about taking any sides...i'm just trying to make sense of everything thats going on.
I don't understand why we even started talking about this anyways...someone else insulted Canadians...and i said something...then you jumped in and told me i don't have the right to speak because im not from your country???
The title of the thread is Presidential Debate...and believe it or not...Here in Canada, i adjusted the bunny ears on my igloo just right...and i managed to watch the debate.
I am not a Kerry supporter...nor do i support bush...I just like to be informed on whats going on in the world around me. The vote is not mine, it's yours...or will be soon enough. |

i believe that bush did make mistakes and sh_t but he is human, if he didnt go to war on "terror" than people would be bashing him for being a p_ussy. i also think if kerry wins its not because of him, its because people want change from wats going on now and dont want bush. if u look at or talk to people about why they are gna vote for kerry they start out with "bush sux" or on their cars its anti-bush propaganda. seriously an election is to vote for someone not against someone else. if u like kerry and want to vote for him than i think thats ur oppinion but if u dont know anything about his campaign than dont even go to the f_cking poles. dont be ignorant, research your vote and make an educated vote that is not formed by media and heresay bullsh_t. Matt_French, i dont care where u live if u voted u would at least be educated on your choice and thats good. |

Because your president has the ability to f*ck up more than his own country, and might I say he is doing a wonderful job of it... _________________

Todd, hahaha Bush said in his closing statement that there would not be a draft. If you look at the records 1059 soldiers in 2 years is actually pretty good considering our opponent. At least some one is getting a tax cut I Clinton did even give us a tax cut. |

The Pavement 3.6, Bush also said in 2000 that he was not going to use the Millitary as a nation builder, He also said not child left behind, and we know were Saddam's WMDs are, he said Saddam has proven links to Al-Queda.
