Texas does big things.

So I was pretty excited when I first learned about Texas Ski Ranch in Austin.

Then time past, and I learned about Bearfire Ski Resort, (a year-round, outdoor mountain complete with a half pipe and park section) ( http://www.bearfireresort.com/ )

sweet. so come 2010 I can go to my local lake, then the next day shred my snowboard on some fake ass carpet shizzle.

Today this girl I know told me her friend's dad runs a construction company that was contracted to build a cable park in North Texas (same area the ski resort is being built). Also through her friends dad I might be able to get lots of free passes for the cable park.

sometimes life doesn't suck. Birthday

maybe that's just me though, I can look at a grey sky and a bare tree and say "what a beautiful day it is"

jcoffey, so it is not going to be snow?? I'm confused. I tried to find an explanation of their surface but failed. It seems like falling on carpet would kind of hurt. I'm doing some more research this place sounds epic

Here is some information about the material called Snowflex. Basically it has about a 2 inch thick foam padding underneath so you pretty much are falling on gymnastics mats. This park is going to be amazing.

jcoffey, they've been talking about building that by the race track for a few years. i'm not even sure they have settled on a location. i'm not sure its ever going to happen. i'd be all over that if it was open though
