I rode the 09 40.5 SST with a wood bottom deck and it was awesome. Great pop, Non A-Sym, Released from the water well, and the concave is nice and mellow feeling.
Kate said that the all composite one is even better tho.

On the composite the bolts go through the top and there is like a channel between the top and bottom for water to flow through. Thats what my LF rep said. someone confirm

i rode the board, its pretty sick, im just not used to a board like that. its got a lot of pop, and i mean a lot! released from the water pretty good to. if your going to get an SST i would definitely say go with this one, it seemed to be built really good and felt like it could take a beating. good board if you ask me. but thats just my opinion on it.

Scott MN Peterson, ohhh nice so they just screwed over everyone with an older SST. Now we can't just upgrade the bottom deck, thats lame. Rolling Eyes

on the LF order form it said you can get an 09 with wood or composite bottom....I think the wood is bolted from the bottom so you might be able to get new bottom decks?

FYI, Liquid Force will be producing composite bottom decks that will replace the old wooden bottoms for the SST boards. So the people who have older top decks will be able to "retrofit" to the new composite bottom decks. They will bolt through the bottom deck similar to the old wooden bottom decks.
