I picked up this suit a few weeks back and have been using it to learn to surf on the great lakes mostly but have done some winching and I'll be doing plenty more this winter.

Its a 6/5/4 Rip Curl F-Bomb with rip curl 5 mm gloves and 7 mm boots.

Just figured I'd let people know whats out there so everybody in the North has a little less down time. I've worn this suit in 35 Mph winds blowing Ice pellets in my face in 44 degree water and have never been cold.

Raven, yea its a chest zip and the hoods bomb. I know you and Zak are down to brave the cold but not many others out there.

Grasso, they're made for surfing so they are really thin and you have a ton of board feel. Wont hold up very long against grip so I might have to foam one of my decks.

There really isn't any other better option thicker then 3 mm for your feet.

JB_CANSKATE, can't you just loosen up your shoes and fit them over the booties?

I use a 5/4 Mutant Onell (awesome) and normal 3mm bootys, some sick water proof, lined, grippy gloves I found at a hunting store. I'll take some pics of my gear! I rode in the river yesterday for my lunch behind the boat, wasn't cold once! just tired. Cold water takes it out of you. Also not falling does too!

Winter riding is awesome! I love it so much!! Smash Smash

Be ready for this thing, should be getting some into the shop pretty soon, and can already place orders if anyone is interested, there literally is no such thing as cold with this suit. http://www.ripcurl.com/index.php?hbomb

Soulprogression, WOW!!!! I wouldn't need propane heaters to stay warm when you're not riding! That's the only time I get cold, and it's my feet that go first!.

I wanna try it!! Smash

We had some in the booth at expo last two years, but the guys working it were pretty stingy about who they let it. Kinda pricey but hard to put a price on staying toasty through the depths of winter, icebergs ftw

Lollar, wakeskating is as much, if not more fun in cold water.

Soulprogression, that suit looks insane but not necessary unless your WAY North.

WOW, $1100 to stay warm? I would do it if I needed it. I used to water ski in Colorado in 49 degree water temp with a 1/4 neoprene full suit and it was well worth it just to be out there.

But now I live in Florida,,,lol

Lollar, you whimp! Wink It's really not that bad in the cold water. Riding when there is ice on rail or the ground on in the water. It's like riding boat all your life then when you are 25 you move to orlando and start riding cable! it's new and you love it. You don't want to go back and ride boat again.

That's what winter riding is like for me, until spring time then I'm so ready for it to warm back up. At summers end i'm excited to put my wet suit back on. It's adds a little protective padding for those nar spots with rocks and what not that wants to tear fleash off of you.

If you come out West to kick it OTT style I will drag your ass out in the Cold just like I did with Walton. And at days end he had a blast. Now look where he lives! Washingthon! LOL

Guy, I picked it up from Silent Sports in Richmonhill. I shopped around quite a bit before I got it and it was the best price I could find for everything there.

Our season is way too short with out a suit. You could go comfortably without a suit for 3-4 months a year. With a suit like this and a winch you could go almost the whole year on the lake Ontario, Huron and Erie besides usually a few weeks in January when they freeze over.
