Just had a huge wrench tossed into the mix! My Mac crashed on my today hard! I have almost everything backed up. But no way of editing anything right now!!

And there is no way I can buy a new one anytime soon.

Pray for me and OTT!

I bought new tires for my truck last Friday, then this Friday my pool pump takes a dump. Money is just flying out of my wallet.
I am going golfing today and its FREE, that will make me feel better.

Cant you just take it to the Apple store and have them fix it for free? I thought thats how it worked with Macs?

Lollar, it depends on the damage. ours crashed and we needed a new hard drive, yeah everything was free but we lost everything. if its unable to be fixed easily you have to pay, it all depends on what happens

It's an old G4 I got back when I lived in Fl it's gotta be like 2003. I've had my fair share of trips to Apple with her over the years. A good friend of mine works for apple and when I told him about it he thought if I could get it to turn on there a chance. It won't turn on for anyone or anything!

So, right now I have an Imac that is just over 3 years old but sucks and has no programs on it. I do have all my photo's, Video's, music and everything backed up in external hard drives. I have 7 of them with different shizzle on them all.

I hope to find out more this week, my buddy is going to come over and take a look at her!

Zak,

It might be as simple as a bad power supply. Those are pretty cheap, if you need one check out ebay. It is common for them to go out on all computers after 4 years.

If its a motherboard it might be a little more expensive but since its an older g4 it wont be too bad.. Of course if you buy those part replacements from apple it will cost a lot. ebay is your friend!
