They, like many boards, have a curved nose/tail. It's an end shape that works well. I'm sure the rocker is very different from an integ, and you can tell from the pictures that the concave is way different. Not to mention, they are wood. I'm willing to bet there are no channels on the base, and that the edges are more mellow, which will make it (along with a different rocker) sit differently in the water.

So keep trying to put companies down by saying "it looks like board-x.." but while many boards are inspired by others with a working concept, much more work is put into them than just copying a design flat out.

those boards look sick! would really love to try one.
i think j-star actually is jobe (they created a more fancy name to better market their wakeboard and wakeskate line). excuse me if i'm wrong but a friend rides for jobe and on his board it says j-star...

New for ’09 is our first venture into the bi-level arena, better to build a quality skate than to rush in with something unfinished. With tons of added durability due to our unique inner sections and improved insert areas, the Distortion is set to change the way skating feels on the water. With a bit of weight, the board stays firmly placed where you want it and sticks with you coming off the wake enhancing all technical tricks. This added swing weight enhances rider confidence and gives you some added skills to help get to that next level of tech tricks. With a phenomenal kick to boot what more do you need? Check out the Distortion, we are sure you will not be disappointed. Comes with a Grip tape top deck for traction and performance.

Our Exile wakeskates epoxy resin coated design ensures longevity on the water. Packed with tons of features like a 9-ply Canadian maple laminate construction, EVA deck pad for grip, as well as an aggressive 3-stage kick that provides a ton of snap for ollies. Our wakeskates were designed to track smoothly while on edge, but still roll through any rough water that might be encountered. The Exiles give you all the tools to learn that first heelside off the lip to the first varial if you can get the courage to try one. Size is based strictly on rider preference, riders of all levels and abilities should choose based on their own individual riding style and preference. Comes with an EVA top Deck for comfort and grip.

Those skates look pretty sweet. When it comes to wakeboards I actually like Jobe/J-Star boards, I've had a Brett Eisenhauer model for years that never lets me down when I feel like puttin boots on.

At expo on of the Jstar guys asked me to explain the difference between their regular skate and their 2 board one. The guy was cool, but I shouldnt be explaining a companies product to the reps. However I was glad to help out!

whilst the top deck looked to have a nice shape, the bi-level rhetoric sounds like what a bunch of other companies have already said...
