Hey, I'm new.
I just started wakeskating this summer but have been wakeboarding for 4 years now. I made my own wakeskate last year and it worked out great. I didn't get to ride it that much but it was a blast. ollieing, carving and slayshing was soo much fun!

Since my season is over and I'm back in school, I am planning on building some more wakeskates in my tech class. I am making a mold to shape the wakeskate but was wondering how much rocker I should put on this thing. I want it three-stage but I don't know how much flat spot it's supposed to have and how much bend it should have. If anyone with any knowledge about rocker can help me out I'd really appreciate it. and any other tips about makin em would be awesome.

pics below.

Holy super rocker!!!! Looks like nice finished product though. Flat spot in the middle would probably help

you should look at the specs on other companies sits to get a rough idea. i like that thing man. it looks like you carved it from a tree like those old tribes who surfed. this is just what i'd want..taper the concave further to the kick tails

my favorite rocker is 1.5 continues. or i like the flat spot to go from pocket to pocket (the spot that is inbetween the kicktail and the concave.

Wow man. Very nice craftsmanship, to say the least. Like others said i'd ease up the rocker a bit and make the concave a little bit closer to the kicktails and sand down the edge a bit, and it'll look slick Cool

inter, those are some heavy lookin dumbbells under that table.... you do a lot of workin out? Cool

jk.

that skate looks DIRTY!! great lookin finished project!!

rockers ~2" flat spot should be large part of the board.. go get a long metal ruler (or SS yard stick) cut it to proper length and do some shaping with that, till the rocker looks right.. that should give you a good idea of flat spot length

again, great lookin skate!! Birthday

this is a pic of one i made, what i did is i just cut the rocker of the mold to the rocker of my wakeboard, and since you said you wakeboard, you could just use that, unless you want a better rocker

thanks for all the compliments and advice guys. and yeah, when I made the board I didn't know much about wakeskates so after I did some research I realized there was way too much rocker on it.

mojo, I'm gonna make it similiar to this http://www.wakeskating.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2317

bmr712, it weighs 8.7 pounds. that's about the average weight for a wakeskate right?

t-rex, yeah I started workin out this year. curlin' those 10s are makin me HUGE! Arrow Arrow

oh yeah and one more dumb question. Is the flat spot in the middle of the board actually flat or slightly curved?
