So three years or so ago I was laughed at, by a couple of the well known wake cinematographers, for wanting an HD camera. I explained that the future was HD, and even if I couldn't edit it at the time, it'd be great to have it archived in HD. That's when I was laughed at and told "24p was all you need, don't waste your time or money on an HD cam, it'll never catch on".
Seems as though everyone has joined the HD bandwagon, and I've got the last laugh now... I bet they're kicking themselves in the rear for all this awesome footage that could have been AMAZING had it been in HD. so, HAHA...
And as for the 24p, I shoot in full HD resolution 1080/1920 at true 24p. Best of both worlds...
But seriously, it makes me crack up to think that these guys literally laughed in my face a few years ago..
I'm all for the HD revolution. It looks so much cleaner... (however, I'm still a film freak, it's just not cost effective for the little guy)
What do you guys think? _________________ good people drink good beer ~ Hunter S. Thompson |
